So glad you are doing well on the treatment - some of the stress you were

under maybe gone like you said having finally started the treatment. Don't

worry your husband will come around. It is hard at first and I know that

first hand because it is my husband who has the Hep C in our family. Stay

positive.

Hi Everyone,

Just checking-in to let you all know how this first week on treatment has

been going. The first shot was done at the Dr. office around 11:00. So by

6:00 that evening I was having the flu-like symptoms, chills......not bad

though, mild fever and body aches. Next day felt great. Friday, 2nd shot

at 7:00 in the evening. I must have slept through them. I took a couple of

tylenol. Felt good all day yesterday. Now if I were to do the every other

day dosing, tonight would be 3rd shot. I'm using the syringe so I could

just use a little less out of the vial. Does anyone else do that? I've

been drinking lots of water and having to find a bathroom more often than

usual. I'm also still taking vitamins C and E, milk thistle, calcium, and

ERT. So far, this is going very well. Everyones prayers must be working.

Thanks everyone. I have plenty of engery and my spirits are high. I'm

taking 5 of the Riboviron capsules a day. Blood work in schuduled each week

for the next 3 weeks. Last night I took a tylenol pm. Slept all night

through. It's O.K. to take the PM tylenol, I hope. Well, gotta go, Bye for

now...........Dee Dee

Claudine,

Looking at my vials........which are 3 million IU. I'm suppose to use the

whole vial with one shot. I was given 12 to last for 4 weeks. I don't

think I should run the risk of running out, unless I cut back on the dosage.

What does Doc here suggest? Thanks......Dee Dee

Thanks Lora.....but too soon to expect no sides. Somehow, I'm alot more

easily upset........making a big deal out of nothing and becoming irritated

for no reason. AS far as everyother day dosing.....I havn't checked it out

with my Dr. I'd hate to run out of meds before I can refill. I'm using a

syringe. Suppose I could adjust the dosage. Not sure if that would be

wise. Better stick to 3x a week. Bye for now.......Dee Dee

Dear Dee Dee,

I am so glad that treatment so far is going well

for you! It's nice to hear good stories about

treatment side effects.

There is plenty of overfill in the vials to do a

full dose every other instead of 3 X a week. The only

problem you may run into would be running out of

syringes down the line, but that is usually an easy

problem to solve. I told the pharmacy once that I

didn't like the syringes packed in the kit and they

just handed me a whole bag of them with smaller

needles. When you pick up your prescription just tell

them you need extras.

Take care,

Claudine

Sounds like you are getting along pretty good on the treatment and we love to

hear news like that. Keep up the good work. We will keep you in our prayers

as we do everyone on this list. Staying positive is what helps us also.

Glad to hear your husband is coming around I knew he would. You might not

have changed but your situation has remember that. You are dealing with a

chronic disease and the treatment for it that is the part that changed in

your life and the part he is having a hard time excepting. If he is like me

he is wishing it was him that was sick and not you. We have found a way to

deal with it and you guys will to. It has been a real struggle this past

year and as close as we were before this has really made us closer. Keep on

smiling.

You have different vials than mine. Mine held

enough for 3, 3mu injections plus overfill.

When my doctor changed my dosage to 5 mu instead

of 3 mu the pharmacy just added extra vials and

syringes to the pre-packed Rebetron kit.

Suzy,

Thanks but I think I'll stick to the 3x a week. Only because I hate giving

myself the shot! Last night was #4. Maybe as time goes on I'll play with

it. I'm doing o.k.....feeling tired this morning. Burst out into tears for

no reason yesterday. Kept it to myself and realized it must be the

treatment. Had blood drawn yesterday. Well better get going.........talk

to you later......Dee Dee

Hang in there girl - I do believe the bursting out crying is not only from

the treatment but it is stressful knowing that you are living with a chronic

illness also. My husband had a terrible time dealing with it and was like

you and very upset about that to then so like always I thank the

antidepressants that have helped him so much. Stay positive!!!
