Guest guest
My baby boy started wearing his DOC band on March 1st...he was five months old at that time. We went for regular adjustment appointments every week at Cranial Technologies, and we saw tremendous improvement within the first four weeks. In fact, at our one-month appointment on April 2nd, our orthotist said he thought it looked like would only need another month to six weeks in the band. Much to my surprise, when we went for our adjustment appointment on April 9th, he told us that it looked like he would need it longer that he had indicated a week before. He also said that a second band would make more of a difference than keeping the first band on, and that he may recommend re-casting him for a new band. He wants us to come back on the 23rd, and then we will decide whether to put him in a second band. The head change did slow down a little from the fourth to the fifth week, but I am surprised that the orthotist feels he may need a second band. There is still at least six weeks of wear left in the original band. Has anyone ever heard of a second band so soon (not even two months after the first one has been fitted?) Has anyone had any experience with a second band making a rapid change in the first month (like the first one usually does)? I would be more that happy to do a second band if we can achieve as much of a change as we did in the first month with his current band.
