Do you know the source for that information? I fell into eating oatmeal every day during my recovery. I wonder if there is a connection between eating oatmeal and lower thyroid hormones. By the way why would you avoid oatmeal if it might enable you to take less ATDs?

Guest guest
Mona, what's your source re: oatmeal? I love it and it's one of my favorite comfort foods. I hope you're mistaken! Perhaps I'll start trying a toasted English muffin with strawberry preserves or some Yoplait custard-style yogurt. I can't stomach much before 10:00 A.M. and then it's too close to noon. Maybe I'll take a blender to work and make " smoothies " for my fellow co-workers in the legal department once in a while. I DO love them but they're work! ===== Bonner breakfast > I don't eat breakfast until I get to work.....around 0700 - 0730 then it's > only toast and fruit. Guest guest
The NGDF bulletin board was a great help to me at a time when I had many questions...especially about TED. I also met a person locally at NGDF that referred me to my current Endo! I don't remember who told me about the oatmeal but it came from someone on that board. I didn't question it at the time.....just wanted to get better. I'll do a search on their bulletin board and see if I can find the source! Mona Re: breakfast Mona, what's your source re: oatmeal? Since I started the program at the beginning of this week, I have been having one scrambled egg done in olive oil and 2 slices of turkey bacon. It is satisfying and keeps me going untill lunch. I thought I would miss the toast with an egg but I do the bacon really crisp on use it to put pieces of egg on it and eat it like it was toast. Guest guest
<< i am having trouble figuring out just what to eat for breakfast >> I used to be a non breakfast eater but this diet made me want more energy. It turned me into an energy junky who wants fat and protein. I tried the smoothies etc but it just didn't work for me. I usually eat eggs and left over steak or meat. I do sometimes eat bacon or sausage (Oh my God!!) but I burn it to a cinder. I need a lot of protein for breakfast. Some folks say that they eat all of their carbs in the morning but munching on fruit or a salad in the morning is a little much for me. I'd rather watch a cow munch on salad and then shoot the cow and eat it for breakfast. I save my salad for dinner and eat fruit sparingly. Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: njr_rjn <njr_rjn@...> i am having trouble figuring out just what to eat for breakfast this morning it was eggs but i am not much of a breakfast eater at the best of times Is there a meal plan anywhere i can access thanks Ahhhh.... yes. Newbie need to know what to eat for breakfast! Perfect. If you pay me a dollar everyday I will personally instruct you what to eat for breakfast. That way you won't have to waste your time thinking about it! I figure, if people will pay " professionals " exhorbitant amounts of money for nutrition " advice " that pales in comparison to the BTD, then my breakfast suggestions will surely be worth a dollar per breakfast! Simply tell me what is in your house, food-wise; that means dry pantry, fridge, even herbs in your backyard (it would help immensely if you had some marijuana, BTW, as I'm sure we could arrange an even less expensive consultation fee, perhaps even a barter system of sorts...). Or you could eat what you have eaten for breakfast BEFORE the diet, but eliminate avoids and emphasize the HBs (even breakfast should adhere to the BTD). Or you could eat leftovers from last night's dinner. This concept helps drive home what Os are REALLY about. We are NOT spelt-cake eating wussies or spelt-cookie eating pussies or rice-pasta dining wimps or soy-milk smoothie-making pimps! WE ARE Os! We are primal! We are savage! We are strong! If I eat something " fruity " , such as reconstituted (re-hydrated) figs or prunes or apricots or a banana smoothie or something else high-carb and easily digest for breakfast I will follow it up with a REAL meal of lots of meat and plenty of calories from FAT! I don't go for a bernaise sauce or anything frenchy-fancy like that! I don't like to oxidize my valuable high-cholesterol yolks. If I'm eating steak tartar (the best breakfast) I'm all set, if I'm not eating tartar I'll break a yolk on my food if I feel like it. There's your " breakfast eggs " folks! Need morning exercise suggestions? Go out and kill something! Need breakfast meal suggestions? Eat what you killed! Axel O+ secretor, eating beef heart again. That's right. For late breakfast. Guest guest
I try and eat my red meat early in the day so I usually saute a steak or lambchop. I like it rare so it only takes me about 5 minutes.
Guest guest
As for soy or rice milk - go ahead and use it. For me, I don't do well with soy - I also don't like the taste. I use the organic milk because it is already in the house for my daughter who refuses to even try this way of eating. She does eat what I cook and respects my choices, but there are too many tempting avoid foods in the house now that she has come back home. Kate in sunny So. Guest guest
Meat and vegetables. I usually eat ground beef cooked with onion, garlic, red peppers, salt, and salsa. I put it on top of heated frozen spinach or any vegetable left over from the night before. I make a big pot of the meat, then it's not hard to heat up enough for a meal. This morning I had a hamburger patty with salsa and some cooked fresh summer squash. Breakfast Hello all, New to the group, but I've been familiar with ER4YT for several years. I haven't had a lot of experience in following it, however in the short time that I did, I lost about 10 lbs in a month without even thinking about it. (that is beyond impressive for me) Now, I hate just jumping in with a question, but isn't that really why we all join these groups? My main weakness with this whole system, is Breakfast. I'm not a morning person, so I tend to sleep till the last possible minute, and now that I'm a single mother, I have even less time in the morning. On top of it, I tend to avoid the kitchen just on general principal. I actually tried to blow up the microwave a couple of weeks ago. And to make matters even worse, I'm kinda on the broke side of finances, so buying expensive breads etc is pretty much out for the forseeable future. Now, being that wheat, potatos, corn, and pork-products are out, I can only tolerate small amounts of eggs, and cereals don't fulfill me, what on earth am I supposed to eat for breakfast? I'm the type of person who needs variety in my life, so even if I were to come up with one or two things, I would only stick to it for a few weeks, then I would be back to old habits. So, any ideas? The more the merrier. I will be forever grateful for any thoughts. Thanks in advance.
Guest guest
Welcome , We all have had great results, and keep learning from each other. I think question from new people have resulted in more new information than anything else. Come on, Give Us Something to Research... I have been on the road you are for some time. You have probably already noticed how much you are not spending on all that garbage that is avoid. Ground beef is your best bet. It's going to stick with you for a good part of the day, keep you running with ALL your senses active, and you can buy very good quality that is still cheap. Better quality meat reheats better, and tastier than the cheaper stuff though. Grass Fed poor cuts are better than grain fed high quality cuts. While meat has been the root of some very hot debate in this group, most of us know it's what satisfies us best. I keep containers of meat in marinade running non stop in the fridge, and some kind of Chili/pasta sauce/taco meat type of dish cooked in bulk. Most will agree that some kind of leftovers are best, so cook dinner with breakfast in mind. Kale, or spinach make good wrappers for a very satisfying rolled breakfast. A few weeks like this and you will wonder how anyone could live on cereal for breakfast... I would recommend to purge your house of all avoids. When folks tell you think of them as poison, they are not kidding. Sorry to all the regular speakers. I have been preaching the power of BTD at work and family. Live well, and enjoy every moment,. Guest guest
Jenn, Breakfast is what floats your boat the moment you decide to eat it at stage 1. Your need at that time is hydration, potassium, salt and the lactbacilli and protein in the yogurt. You are pulling out all the excess fluid from your joints and extremities and eating from your stored fat. You hear us talk about how our arthritis pain goes away during stage one, that is because all the fluid pressure in our joints has lessened. Stage 2 is the same except you are adding some bulk in the form of a soft boiled egg, or egg salad, mashed potato and most of all, you are still healing. During stage 2, you eat " A B C " food --- already been chewed food. What you eat doesn't matter as long as you follow the list of choices. Breaking it up into what to eat and at what time is what your newly strange scrambled brain wants at that moment. Stage one, I liked hot V 8 with beef broth mixed in it. Stage 2, I liked simply mashed potatoes for 2 meals of my 3 with salty fluids in between. Key words.... what floats your boat at that moment. Oatmeal didn't sit right with me ever during stage 1 and 2. Drink drink drink....... Guest guest
1st - don't think in terms of breakfast, lunch & dinner. I remember Dr. D. telling me before my surgery to only eat when you feel hungry, not just because the clock said it was time to eat! So, if you feel like eating, then eat, if you don't, then don't. Also - don't get stuck on breakfast foods, lunch foods, dinner foods. You can eat any type of food at anytime (on correct stages). Stage 1: yogurt, crackers, soup broth, gatorade Stage 2: yogurt, crackers, soup broth, gatorade, soft cooked eggs (if they set well w/ you), runny mashed potatoes, grits, oatmeal (if they set well w/ you) mushed up - overcooked veggies, a little peanut butter on your crackers for protein. They have a pretty low sugar content and have a good amount of protein. They make a good breakfast when you're on the go, too. > > 1st - don't think in terms of breakfast, lunch & dinner. Guest guest
stage 1 yogurt, broth, gold fish, saltines, nothing with a hard edge, same thing for lunch and supper and snack time...stage 2 soft scrambled egg, boiled egg. ( some have trouble with the yolk as it tends to gum up in the tummy, if that is the case, try just the white. I has all the protein in it anyway. protein drinks made like a smoothie, add just a bit of fruit and blend the tar out of it, go easy, cheese if memory serves me is o.k. anything that actually has to be chewed well. no bacon, sausage, pancakes, but oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat, etc is great add a bit of protein powder to it if you want and it becomes a source of extra protein for you... take care in Mo, Breakfast Ok I don't have my manual with me right now and am wondering what are acceptable choices for breakfast during stage 1 and stage 2....I THINK I remember stage 1 is strictly liquids and crackers? and yogurt....so I am thinking yogurt would be a good breakfast item and OJ or some other type of juice.....I also think during stage 2 runny oatmeail and grits are good....is this true? can everyone give me some ideas of what you did for breakfast during stage 1 & 2? thanks!!!! ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. It is not necessary to rotate any of the foods recommended on this program, since you couldn't possibly be allergic to God-given natural foods. Human bodies are all designed to consume good unadulterated foods in order to be healthy. Many foods are also antifungal, including eggs which contain sulphur. But again healing reactions doesn't mean you are " actually " allergic to them. Your body is only allergic to toxins and poisons. Food allergies is big business however, and it is very misunderstood by doctors, natural practitioners, etc. They attribute reactions as allergic, however they are exactly the same set of symptoms as healing reactions the body itself creates in order to heal itself, detoxify, etc. Because good unadulteratered foods cause healing reactions you start with small amount and only gradually increase them so your healing reactions are tolerable, i.e. start with 1 tsp. of egg yolk and increase the amount very slowly. Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome to our group! As you read more on Bee's website, you will find that it's best to transition away from the fruits and grains and try eating closer to Bee's recommended diet, including eggs. In the meantime, it's perfectly fine to eat traditional 'lunch' or 'dinner' foods at breakfast time. The best of luck to you as you embark on this new journey towards health! > > > > I have multiple food allergies and am on a rotating diet. I eat > eggs every five days. I eat either fruit or grains such as teff, > gluten free oats, and quinoa the other mornings. I am having trouble trying to figure out what to do about breatkfast.
