Hi Lynn

I remember you now - sorry! Thyroxine takes about 6 weeks to 'get into your system' and 100 mcg may not be a high enough dose for you. With thyroid meds you really do have to take it slowly. It may be that you will need to increase more over a period of time.

Try to be patient - sometimes it takes a while but many people do improve very quickly on thyroxine. I would expect that you will start to feel better soon, so hang in there! Are you taking it on an empty stomach as this is important. Some people find that if they take it at bedtime this seems to work better too.

My experience is that I gradually felt better and then plateaued and knew that I was ready for an increase. Do try not to get down as you are on the right road now that its been recognised that you're hypothyroid.

There is lots of info in the files - have a look to see if there might be other reasons why you arent feeling better. For example sometimes people need to treat adrenals first as this can affect uptake of the thyroid medication - this is easily treated and not expensive.

Mainly - it can take a while to feel better but I would think that you will feel better in the next few weeks so dont get disheartened! You will get there and there is lots of support here to help and advise you on your journey!

Its quite late now for many of us hypoTs but I am sure that others will be along tomorrow with other advice and experiences to help you.

Hi everyone,

I have been on Nystatin( a little over a week), both the pill form and

powder. I feel very nauseous and I have diarrhea.

Should I continue this medication?

regards,

correy

+++Hi Correy. No, you wouldn't take any other antifungals like

Nystatin, other than the ones I recommend. You take unrefined coconut

oil as your only antifungal when starting on this program.

Please read the articles first, and then you'll see why you should stop

taking Nystatin.

The best in health, Bee
