Guest guest
I think " Airborne " has echinacea in it, which is an immune system stimulant, and PID patients should NOT HAVE herbal remedies which stimulate the immune system because it's thought they could possibly stimulate an autoimmune disease, which PID patients (and seemingly their relatives!!) are susceptible to. Please don't use it! (mom to , age 5-1/2, dairy intolerant-related GERD -- currently has polysaccharide antibody def, previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell & other defs... and also to Kate, born 9/19/02, dairy intolerant)

I wish the doctors would tell their patients about this stuff. Especially Immune Dr.'s Janet, Mom to Brittany, CVID, age
Guest guest
I just e-mailed this to my mother-in-law. I don't think she believes me that isn't supposed to use things like this, so I cut and pasted your reply so she could hear it from someone other than me! Thanks! Just kidding and glad I could help. The no-herbals is a continuing theme around here, pretty much no question about it. Guest guest
Oh noooo, I cut and paste so she wouldn't e-mail you back and argue with you! Hahaha! She DOESN'T believe me. She sent me a message back saying that SHE takes 7 other medications and there are no interactions with them. She doesn't believe that really has an IgA Deficiency. I've had other relatives say " well, I have an immune deficiency, too, because I have allergies " . . . >.Oh, getting me in trouble with your in-laws, are you?!! Just kidding and glad I could help. Guest guest
, I don't think it is a good idea to take herbal supplements before anesthesia. The Dr.'s want to know anything that your child has taken and those are not FDA approved. My Pediatrician said that was a big rip off too. Guest guest
My dad was using Airborne like candy this past winter. He was continuously sick with cold symptoms, it felt like, and he would also take a lot of echinacea tablets. There is a lot of extra " junk " in Airborne, not to mention I'd be surprised if it doesn't contain some sort of sweetener. I wouldn't recommend it Now that we've ganged up on him (and his doctor agreed with us!) my dad has been taking cod liver oil. He hates it, and doesn't get the recommended amount... but he hasn't had cold symptoms in a month or so, and is still going strong! andra > I would guess that you are taking the supplements from Bee's program, therefore have that boost of vitamins and minerals as a preventative for catching something. The product, " Airborne " is just another boost of vitamins and minerals for the body not to catch a virus. And they work! > > >
