Our household water is rain water off the roof, stored in an epoxy coated, concrete cistern. Out of the tap, its conductivity is about 25 uS (microsiemens), which is quite low, meaning there is very little dissolved ionic mineral content. After RO, the conductivity drops to around 5 uS. That same tap water, run through the distiller, tests at around 0.8 uS. The worst quality store bought distilled water I ever tested came in at 1.3 uS. I make my CS with the Colloid Master from wishgranted.com, using an aquarium bubbler for stirring, and I set the unit to shut off when my CS measures around 23 uS; if I let it run much longer than that, the silver starts agglomerating and precipitating out. > > > > > > Can I still make CS if I do not have Reverse Osmosis water? > > > > From a hardcore CS purist's perspective, the only water you should make CS from is steam distilled or deionized. If you make CS using a microwave oven power supply following my method I'd like to know the conductivity results The colloidal silver it makes can plate the inside of the jar (if it triggers to start agglomerating) but of course I avoid that. Its not just from a 'purist' perspective - if the water has too high a mineral content, you'll end up with silver salts instead of CS, and it is silver salts that will turn you BLUE. With all the confusion I've had about BIY machines with batteries and microwaves and RO water vs Distilled, yet one more reason for me to want to just avoid this crazy idea.
