Guest guest
With regard to Buffington's query as to what list members feel is the best multi-vitamin, we'd recommend the Life Extension Foundation mix. LEF has high quality products, although not cheap. The best time to buy from them is when they have their annual sale in December. [Would you care to list the ingredients and the number of milligrams of each vitamin, as well as the form (e.g. mixed tocopherols vs d-alpha tocopherol Vit E, and vitamin C with bioflavonoids vs solely synthetic C) of each vitamin or mineral in their products? That would help us to assess the value of those supplements. Unfortunately, many of the multi-vitamins or multi-mineral supplements contain substances which act against one another, such as vit B12 and Vit C, or others like Vit C and iron (which facilitates absorption of potentially toxic iron). Others contain quantities that are laughably small, while still others contain forms that are minimally absorbed by the body. Guest guest
My mid-wife wants me to start taking wild yam in addition to the calcium, mag., and vitamin E that I am aleady taking. It is to help with 'irritable uterus' that I have suffered with for the past 13 years/6 living children and current pregnancy. I have found some from Natures Sunshine but it contains INGREDIENTS: Amount Per 2 Capsules: Wild Yam Root (Dioscorea villosa) 750 mg* *Daily Value not established Other Ingredients: Cellulose (plant fiber), dicalcium phosphate, magnesium stearate (vegetable), kosher gelatin and water. Are these 'other ingredients' ok? Any tips for healing an irritable uterus? Thanks Bee!
Guest guest
, The best thing for a irritable uterus is calcium and magnesium since the uterus is a muscle. In fact when patients come in in pre term labor they are given magnesium iv infusion. I don't know why you need to take wild yam. Phyllis > > My mid-wife wants me to start taking wild yam in addition to the calcium, mag., and vitamin E that I am aleady taking. You definitely do not want to take wild yam (progesterone) for your irritable uterus. Your irritable uterus was not caused by a lack of progesterone, so it is important to treat the " cause. " Hormones have a powerful effect on your body, and often cause more health issues and they also interfere with natural healing processes. It is most important that you obtain nutrients that help your body produce proper hormones, like omega 3, vitamins A, D & E, good fats, etc. - of course these nutrients work with many others so the entire diet and all supplements are necessary. Candida causes hormone problems because its toxins make all of the body's cell membranes rigid/stiff so the organs and systems involve in producing hormones aren't as able to function like they should. This also means that hormones that may be produced cannot get into stiff/rigid cells where they are needed to do their job - see this article to understand more about this: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/cabout1.php So it is best to concentrate on " treating the cause, " which is candida. In order to heal an 'irritable uterus' you need to be on this healing program long enough for your body to heal it. Since you've had it for 13 years, it will take 13 months (1 month of natural healing for every year) starting when you are completely on the diet and taking all of the supplements. All the best, Bee
