Okay I was looking in the refrigerated section for sticks of butter. It looks

like GHEE is actually packed in a jar or tin, and is not refrigerated. I looked

on my local health foods store website and they have it for $10.39...so I am off

tomorrow to get it!

Thanks,

le

+++Hi le. If the ghee isn't refrigerated I'd be suspicious of it.

Hi le,

You can make your own Ghee, you don't have to buy it. It's just clarified

butter. I think there is a recipe on Bee's website for how to make it.

Hi,

I found some at a local store that sold products from India. It was 6.49 for a

16 oz jar. It does not have to be refrigerated, as it is just fat.

+++Hi . No, it wouldn't have gone bad on your countertop. But who knows

how long the ghee was in storage at a store, etc. The ghee I bought at my

health store was always in the fridge.

I posted this before I read Bee's reply. I did some research on ghee after I

bought it, and it mentioned it does not have to be refrigerated because all but

the butterfat, has been removed. So I assumed it was like coconut oil, in that

it does not go rancid. It is a solid, when refrigerated, like butter.

'I found some at a local store that sold products from India. It was

I would be a bit suspicious of ghee from India - it may not be

organic, nor from pastured cows, unless it's advertised as such.

You'll get close to 16 oz of ghee from a pound of grass fed butter,

and it should be nearly the same price, depending where you are living.

Good luck!
