Guest guest
Very good commentary, Max. I too had dramatic results after 3 weeks of only HB foods. I had energy to burn!! I outran people half my age. I find that the only way I can lose the weight is to do what encourages and completely omit the grains. There aren't very many HB grains folks. I love beef, and lamb. Lamb is my very favorite. All I can say is try it!! Just do it!! The results speak for themselves. " Kennedy " Forrester Maddviking@... wrote:Opinion alert!!!!! This is my opinion only. I am an engineer not a food prophet. If you really want to see if this diet works, my only recommendation to you new folks is to shift your diet completely to Highly Beneficial for a full 30 days (some people say 2 weeks but I firmly believe in 30 days). Absolutely no cheating. No candy bars, coffee, bread, etc. Don't " nibble " away the effect. When I did it I also stayed away from any other new supplements, herbs, remedies, ideas, etc., and felt the complete effect of the benefits of the diet. For me, it was very dramatic. I felt a tremendous improvement in health and a significant increase in energy. Weight loss was and is moderate but that is a secondary benefit to improved health. After 30 days, eat an avoid like a piece of bread, cup of coffee, glass of milk, etc. I was amazed at how awful I felt and how much the taste had changed. I became a bloatboy or had swelling in my feet or went to sleep and felt miserable. Some people follow the diet EXCEPT FOR (As in except for coffee or except for milk or bread or etc.). If you're gonna cheat then don't waste your time and money because the diet probably will not work for you. Once you're detoxed (30 days) you can pick and choose which foods you can't live without but you'll know their effect on you. For instance, I started drinking coffee again after my first 30 days and felt awful. I kept drinking it and eventually (2 or 3 days) didn't notice its affect on me because my body adjusted to it. It was still poisoning me but my body could " fight " it better. Eventually, I weaned myself off of coffee and felt much better overall. I recommend that you read " Eat Right for Your Type " and get the " Eat Right for Your Type Encyclopedia " as a minimum. I also downloaded foodlists from Dr. Ds website (WWW.dadamo.com). I was not thrilled with " Cook Right for Your Type " and haven't read the other books so I can't comment on them. There is a tremendous amount of knowledge on this list so just ask. Please ask stupid questions so Axel will make fun of you and we can all laugh at you. It breaks up the monotony and we all learn from it not matter how many times we've heard it. I've found that, at times, I will drift away from the diet especially during the holidays and Axel's (and others) admonitions always steer me back. Lot of support here so use it!!!!! Good luck. This diet is not for the feint-hearted but the one thing I've learned is that it is not just a diet, it is the only diet. Max

The only thing I would add/change is that the food lists in Live Right 4 Your Type are more updated and include the variants for secretor status so I feel it's an even better bet than the original Eat Right 4 Your Type. Being a non-secretor, I can tell you what a big difference it makes and is worth the additional knowledge to fine tune the program. Best of luck! Dianne in L.A. Guest guest
Hello June, Welcome to our group! I'm sure Bee will be by to explain things better for you, but I wanted to mention that green vegetables like broccoli and cabbage are antifungal and will cause die-off. The same is true for lemons, garlic and onions. Gas is produced when candida dies, so that is why you are noticing it when you eat those vegetables. Carrots, acorn, hubbard, and butternut squashes all feed candida and therefore will not cause any die-off. As you said, they need to be eliminated. Dill water is good for gas and bloating. Here's the recipe: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/recipes/recipe303.php Hope that helps! > > Hello Bee, > <snip> My challenge is around the vegies. My body craves greens like broccoli, kale, cabbage but when I eat them it causes gas and for me gas does not move through my body but gets trapped on the right side near the ileocecal valve and causes great pain and pressure and fogginess, meloncoly. There are other things that cause this same happening like lemon juice, garlic, onions, etc. <snip> > In Joy June > >
Guest guest
> > Hello Bee, > > My name is June and I come from the SCD diet (2 years) so I had already eliminated all grains and sugar from my diet accept for a little fruit. I had also eliminated dairy. I have been on this candida diet for 2 weeks. I have gone off all fruit now and am increasing my fats. My challenge is around the vegies. +++Hi Joy. Welcome to our group! Like wrote many foods are antifungal, which kill off candida, and when candida is being killed off it produces carbon dioxide, gas, along with over 79 different kinds of toxins. Most of those toxins are alcohol so they cause the fogginess and other brain reactions, like a drunk with a bad hangover. If I don't eat veggies of some sort there seems to be a kind of stasis in my intestines and they don't move. Also I have been doing enemas every other day for 2 years to avoid using laxatives, and also to release my body from the gas that causes the pain and pressure. The stool is not dry like constipation but loose, so there seems to be a problem with forming stools. +++Taking enemas every other day for 2 years causes its own set of problems, since they interfere with the normal functioning of the large colon, so your problems are not caused by a lack of veggies. > My fats are up to about 150 mg and protiens and carbs where they should be. +++150 mg of fat is extremely low, and that could also increase your problems. I recommend you figure out your ratios of protein to fat to carb based on your height as instructed in these articles: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu2_2_2.php +++Enough " good " fats (the kind I recommend) is what helps the bowels/digestion the most, since it strengthens the bowel lining (it regenerates every 4 days), helps pull nutrients from foods, and it aids digestion in so many other ways. +++Hopefully you are referring to Curing Candida, How to Get Started so you change over from SCD to this program gradually. +++If you've had constipation a long time, during the healing process your body will " retrace " each and every episode too, which is according to Hering's Law of Cure: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal8.php +++Also ensure you are cooking all veggies properly, since raw veggies are very hard to digest - here's an article about it (remember my website isn't just for candida, so that's why this article includes fruit): http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/veg3.php +++Also all plant fibres are very hard on digestion - see these articles: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu3_2_2.php > I tried taking alpha-galactosidase for the gas problem so that I could eat the recommended vegies but it didn't seems to work. <snip> +++Ginger tea is very helpful for gas - the recipe is on my website. Since you are having digestive problems I recommend you do the 9-Day Program, but only do the clear water enemas every 4 days - you might need to stay on pureed foods, soup, etc. for longer than 9 days; if you do, do enemas only every 5 days. >I have also been doing the ileocecal valve massage with out results yet. +++You can continue that treatment, and also do overall abdominal massages as well as specific ileocecal valve massages. <snip> > > Thankyou Bee for your extremely prolific and educational material on your website...and your experience, knowledge and gentleness that you bring to all that consult you. I will make a donation when I get back to work fulltime. +++You are very welcome my friend. I am honored to help. The best in health, Bee
