Guest guest
Hi Bee and group! Just wanted to throw in that just last night I opened my shipment of coconut oil from Tropical Traditions and when I went to have some, it didn't taste up to what I wanted it to taste like. I had been using the Nutiva since I ran out of the Trop Trad... Anyway, somehow the Nutiva tasted almost a little sweeter than the other but I like that Trop Trad comes in glass whereas the Nutiva is in plastic (for recycling reasons) anyway, just had to post because while the new shipment didn't taste that bad, there was definitely a taste difference. Guest guest
Hi Phyllis, I had the same issue when I changed coconut oils. I think we just get so used to the taste of one brand, we can't switch easily. Cheers, > > Hi Bee and group! But, before Bee, I was trying to take a whole Tbsp at a time. I didn't think the egg drink was going to be good, either, but I kept hearing others I trusted say they really liked it and I have added raw eggs to my smoothies previously, so I got brave and made a small one (one egg, 7g CO) last night. The spices totally covered the taste of the CO and it kept me full for a long time (fasted for a good 13 hrs befor having b-fast). I made a double-egg " smoothie " this morning, but still only had 7g of CO in it (but a whole Tbsp butter) and no problems with the taste/smell. This will def be how I get my CO in and where I will slowly increase my intake of it... Try it. You might be surprised! Good luck!
Guest guest
Thank you Amy, If you or anyone can tell me what brand (coconut oil) it is and where I can order it from I would appreciate it. " There's a brand that Bee okayed that is refined, and that's the one I use (I'd look it up now but I'm not at home--can someone chime in?). It has ZERO taste or smell. I promise!!! Guest guest
Hi ! I love to melt a Tbsp or two of coconut oil in my tea (I drink Dandelion root tea and ginger tea, and I still love the Pau d' Arco, so I keep drinking it) with stevia and cinnamon, and sometimes ground cloves and nutmeg - there is something so nurturing about the oiliness melted into the tea that makes it like a dessert treat for me, and really satisfies! Feels like I am drinking milk, actually. I am a big tea drinker, so that Tbsp is usually melted into a quart jar of tea - and you could put more in there and drink it throughout the day (though be aware if the tea gets too cold, the coconut oil solidifies). Good luck! - Lilithe > > I'm sorry, but I am gagging over the taste of the coconut oil, even tiny amounts that I have been adding. I knew this would be a problem because I have never liked it. > > Does anyone have any ideas on how to better disguise it? I did purchase one of the brands that was reviewed with a mild flavor. I also have not tried it in the egg drink yet, because I am not up to trying that one either, so please do not suggest that one. I appreciate it. > > >
Guest guest
I believe it's the expeller pressed from tropical traditions. & nbsp;I've used it before. & nbsp;I think I got used to the coconut taste so I haven't purchased it in a while. Guest guest
Amy, Sounds delish! Can you please email me the recipe? I know we're not to discuss recipes here. Thanks! W _______ > > Now I make it with broccoli (I steam it and then throw it in the blender) & some spices, without the stevia/cinnamon, etc. To me, it's much better as a drinkable soup! Having a hot drink in the morning is comforting to me, too.
Guest guest
> > Argh, sorry everyone. I did not mean to offend anyone--that message was supposed to be private, dang email! Anyhow, just my own feelings. As with everything in life, we all have our own ways of doing things. I wish this group could be set up more on a bulletin board site/forums instead of all of these emails. It would be so much easier to folow conversations and to get info from everyone. As much as I appreciate Bee and all that she does, I like to get others' opinions, too. (That's the way I was brought up.) +++Hi Amy. If you go to the Group's Website, you can view all of the replies to any particular message, which is below each message. > My chiro, for the most part, thinks this is all fine and good. He agreed that I have candida, but also thinks there may be more to it for me. He had me send off a stool sample to be tested for gluten allergies/intolrance. He also suggested that I take L-glutamine several times per day. I can't speak for him and his beliefs, but I do know that the relief I get from his advice and adjustments is fantastic. +++All candida sufferers are gluten intolerant, and gluten grains today aren't fit for anyone to have, so everyone would have reactions to them just like all of us do to other toxins. You get plenty of glutamine from meats and eggs, so please don't take any processed supplements. All the best, Bee
