Guest guest Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Kathy, I don't think I mentioned that the stricture I had formed after my esophagectomy. You might ask what type dilator they use and if they graduate from a smaller to a larger on for the dilation. You probably have asked that already. Hope things go well for your appointment on March 16th. Guest guest Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Yes, that's what I am doing now. I have had three progressively larger balloons for the last five stretches. > >> Jumping in here I had some 50 dilations (I know that is hard to > >> > believe) > >> >> after my esophagectomy to great rid of scar tissue. > >> >> Ed > >> > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Hi Ed, Thanks for great explination!! Leave it to one of the " old guys " ...eek I am having a dilation on Tuesday. I am a little concerned about perforation. What did they do for you when they perferated the " E " ? Keep you and feed you barium to close up the hole? Just kidding. I really would like to know how they treat those perforations. The problem for me is that where I am going for the dilation is about 2 1/2 hours from home. I hate the idea of being in the hospital so far away. Oh well, we will see what Tuesday brings. Guest guest Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Hi JC, You know that stuff they put in tires should they be punctured....................... I came home after the dilation, but started running a temp, feeling lousy and yea throwing up which I had not done in years, anyway I ended back at KUMED emergency that night. I was admitted and, fortunately the perforation was quite small and began to heal on its own. I was very lucky in that regard. I was in the hospital for about a week. Things got better after that. In my case they used a very large balloon dilator to dislodge the stricture, only used as a last resort I was told, you shouldn't have to worry if it is a regular dilation. Do you know if they will use the Savary? Ed Re: PS > Hi Ed, > Thanks for great explination!! Leave it to one of the " old > guys " ...eek > > I am having a dilation on Tuesday. Guest guest Report post Posted October 11, 2006 , I have found that the cold meds make me feel way worse than any cold I could have. I will only take something if I haven't slept in several nights (and that was pre-homeopathy/natural healing days) and sometimes that stuff backfires on me and I'm wired all night. We all get sick from time to time and it's a real bummer. Especially when us moms can't just take a rest and get well like the kids can (or the dads - wink, wink). But I assure you that the palliative cold stuff just takes your body longer to truly heal. So sorry you feel rotten, though. It sucks to be sick! Guest guest Report post Posted June 11, 2009 Hi Bee, One more thing. I have also started to have a yeast infection. All of this after I ended the Nystatin. Grrrrrr. Is the yeast infection part of the detoxing? It's not too bad but alittle annoying. Seems like I'm falling apart all of a sudden and I'm hoping this is all due to die off and that it all is a good thing. I need your confirmation to that so that I know what I'm doing is right. Thanks Queen Bee. Hugs, Chris
Guest guest Report post Posted January 29, 2010 Hi , I too have taken all of these- and had unacceptable side effect with all of them- mostly of the sleepy tired sort, but Ramipril gave me a persistant dry cough. Now I'm taking magnesium to try to reduce my BP that way- itcertainly stopped the heavy heart beats I used to get. > thyroid treatment > From: Egyptian.1@...> Date: Thu, 28 Jan 2010 14:34:06 +0000> Subject: PS> > Hi again,> meant to add this to my post - I was on ramipril and cardicor (beta blocker) for b/p and heart, but stopped taking them as they made me ill, and also because apparently they affect thyroid hormones.
