Guest guest
> > Hi, > > It was through browsing the net tonight, I came across this group. Boy, I could not even begin to try and link back to where I first started browsing, one thing led to another and I am so happy to have found you. +++Hi Sharon. Welcome to our group. > > I have been getting down lately due to putting on weight, yet I know it is because I am eating sweet carbs and the cravings are constant. Also trying to stick to a high protein diet (BodyTrim) and yet, the constipation and bad breath are putting me off that. I have managed to give up smoking a few months ago, so I guess overeating goes with that, they say you replace one addiction with another and keeping a water bottle beside me just does not do it for me. +++If you consume a high protein diet you will get constipated IF you don't consume enough " good " fats. > > The bloating and total consciousness of my body not feeling good and feeling I just feel out of control to fix it up. The high protein eating stops the cravings, but I can go over a week without going and end up in agony there. My daughter complains about my bad breath and also not being prepared enough to have the right foods around. I end up just grabbing whatever as I am famished or it is inconvenient to have or find protein near me. +++Your feelings of being out of control are what most people feel before they discovered this program. > > I had forgotten about the Candida I had over 20 years ago and as I read some of Bee's Natural Healing, it all came back to me and I thought, maybe this is what is the problem again!! I did the Candida questionnaire which said I would certainly have it. <snip> +++It may take you longer than 6 months to get healthy again since it takes 1 month of natural healing for every year you've been unhealthy, and for most people nowadays that is since before they were born. +++Remember, that this program is more than just for candida, since it improves anyone's health even if they don't have candida. That is because this program provides your body with mainly " proper nutrients " so it can heal itself naturally, the way Nature intended. > Hi to you all and I look forward to having complete control of my body again. +++You can, one step at a time. Guest guest
Thank you Bee. My heart sinks at the thought that this just may be a life time change as I have been suffering the various problems since I was a child. My doctor sent me to a Dietician some years ago who put me on an exclusion diet and found that I was intolerant of wheat, milk, fructose, glucose, etc. I have been taking antihistamines for the last 12 years to stop irresistible itches that cause sores and continue to take them. I am told there are no side affects. I used to get occasional hives as a child also had them a few times as an adult. I never know what causes them. I am happy to follow the new regime to get some relief for sure. The problem is I find it difficult to know what to do in regards to eating when I am not at home and how to answer people, usually relatives are the worst about why I am not eating normally. I feel cornered because if you do say something, then they all suddenly become Doctors and you are left to feel you are following a quack, which in my heart I know is not true, yet I do not want to be the centre of attention over it all. So if any members can share how they answer critics or say why they are not eating the same, I would be happy to hear it. Also ideas for snacks? I know you say to only eat 3 times a day, (the BodyTrim system which is high protein says 6 times a day, 3 mains and 3 snacks. I usually missed the snacks as the protein filled me up but sometimes you find you are looking for something to munch on). I have begun going thru the recipes/resources and will continue to do so while I am relocating to get myself armed and ready to go. Thanks for your time, Sharon >
Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Welcome! Try not to think of this program as something you *have* to do for the rest of your life. After a while, your taste buds will change and you will wonder how you ever ate those foods you used to love. I've been on the program a year now and some of the 'grossest' foods to me are wine and pasta. I can't imagine going back to eating the stuff I used to eat. Most of it is so disgusting to me now! You'll see - this will happen to you, too. If you know you will be away from home at meal time, just remember to prepare something to bring with you. Let a thermos become your friend! If people ask you why you are eating this way, you can simply tell them that you are doing this to feel better and leave it at that. If they continue to pester you, change the subject. You don't have to answer to anyone! Just do what you know is the right thing for you. At this point I feel confident enough to stand my ground with anyone who criticizes me. But I know in the beginning it is hard. Not everyone will agree with you, but if it makes you feel better, then they should see that you should continue with it. If not, I suppose it really doesn't matter. In the end, you have to make yourself happy. Bee doesn't generally recommend snacking, because you need to give the body time to digest your food and then to relax until the next meal. You don't want to continue asking your body to digest more and more food. In the beginning, though, you might feel extra hungry and need a little something to get you through until the next meal. You could have leftovers from the previous meal, some broth with coconut oil in it, a poached egg, Bee's Egg Drink, some butter. Just this morning I discovered a delicious crunchy idea. I fried side-pork until it was crispy. I put a good amount of sea salt on it, so it was salty (almost like bacon). When it cooled to room temperature, I slathered it with butter. Talk about yummy! I had this for breakfast with a egg, but I imagine that this could be something you have as a snack in the beginning. After that, you really shouldn't snack. Hope that helps! > > Thank you Bee. I understand doing this program is a big reality adjustment. As wrote, over time your taste buds will change and you won't miss those bad foods. > > My doctor sent me to a Dietician some years ago who put me on an exclusion diet and found that I was intolerant of wheat, milk, fructose, glucose, etc. I have been taking antihistamines for the last 12 years to stop irresistible itches that cause sores and continue to take them. I used to say " sugar (or whatever) doesn't like me. " Since they understand allergies, you can say you are allergic to such foods. It is best to keep your replies simple and be very " matter-of-fact " to avoid conflicts. Changing the subject works too. +++Most relatives good intentions but they are very misinformed about what is " truly normal " for humans to consume. Sometimes you can stop further questioning by thanking them for being concerned about you and for caring for you. Also ideas for snacks? At my age, I had tried other ways of eating, but only this way helped me. When I tell them the benefits I received, they sometimes ask me for more info. Hope this helps. C. Where I work we have a small cafeteria. One afternoon I was in there fixing my afternoon electrolyte drink. A co-worker came in and watched what I was doing and said " that looks way too healthy for me " and headed towards a box of donuts that was left there for people to consume. My response was " so have a donut " - which she did. But seriously, my response to people who make comments on what I am eating is simply - " this is how I want to eat " - end of discussion. >

If you are eating the good stuff who cares what others think? Are they going to take care of you when you are sick? Pay your bill? Take care of your home? Tell them thanks for their concern and order up another good piece of good meat or fat and take another spoonful of VCO. Check all your supplements. Read and reread Bee's information. It will work and even though you don't know me, trust me. Neal, AKA " I don't care what others think "
Guest guest
Thank you to all for your helpful advice. I do usually do what I want to do, but there are times when I feel vulnerable and pushed to defend myself. This is no one's problem but my own. I intend to work on that. Your support is very much appreciated. Cheers, Sharon

I totally understand your feelings - people can " try " to do that to us. I think that there are basically two groups of people - those that see you eating " healthy " foods and know that they are not - and don't want to give up their sugar and junk food - and want to just criticize how you eat - and those that are not eating healthy and are curious (like said). A few years ago when I first was learning about candida and healthy eating I was really excited about what I was learning (still am) - and I tried to " educate " everyone who asked about my eating - most of them looked at me like I was from " outer space " - obviously not interested. There were a few who were interested, would listen and we could have a good discussion. What I learned from this was that there is a discernment that needs to take place - you know who is truly interested and who just wants to be critical to make themselves feel better about their bad eating habits - and try to make you feel bad about yours. So - I would also agree with Neal - " I don't care what others think " - and while it may be hard when people - especially people who are close to you - give you a hard time - remember that you are doing what is best for you - you can respond with - this is how I want to eat, this is what makes me feel good and healthy!
