Amy, I know Bee will give the best answer but I can tell you that

HCL stopped or cured my acid reflux/GERD. Years of suffering, taking

Rolaids & every other antacid known to man, did not help. I am one of

many people who needed HCL & didn't know it. I've taken HCL for 18

months now, every single day. Best, Susie

+++Hi Amy. Most candida sufferers have poor digestion, particularly

low stomach acid. The symptoms of low stomach acid are exactly the

same as high stomach acid, which is why such problems are misdiagnosed

and treated with antiacids or acid inhibiting drugs.

It is most important there is enough stomach acid (HCl) in the contents

emptying out of the stomach, since having enough triggers the pancreas

to produce digestive enzymes, and, most importantly, to produce baking

soda in order to alkalize the contents for proper digestion in the

intestines. That's why I do not recommend anyone take pancreatic

digestive enzymes and instead they get their pancreas to do its job by

ensuring they have enough stomach acid.

Here's an article on Stomach Acid Problems so you can see whether you

require HCl, or alternatively eating sauerkraut or kimchi like the

article describes:

Or you could eat sauerkraut - that's how I healed my acid reflux. It

also works better than any antacid tablets if you have heartburn. My

dad, the Great Sceptic, tried this the other day and was amazed by the

results.

You might not like the taste; I didn't either at first. However if you

don't mind it, and you need it for a longer period of time, it's

cheaper than the HCL.

No burning or discomfort ever. I started with 250 mg of HCL & have

never taken more than 250 mg per meal. Sometimes I cut one in half so

it's just 125 mg if I'm having one raw egg, for instance.

Remember, if you get a burning sensation, reduce the amount next

time and/or take 1/4 tsp. of baking soda in water & sip it.

Best, Susie

Hi ,

Just wanted to chime in:

I get burning (it's very painful) even when I take just one HCL,

unless it's with a very big/heavy meal. So, instead, I eat

sauerkraut. It's much more comfortable for me.
