Guest guest
Hi: Please let us know your name. And welcome. I'm sure Bee will address your questions but I wanted to chime in because one of my main set of symptoms was issues with breathing and my lungs. I believe the term for being unable to draw a full, complete breath is called " air hunger " . I experienced frequently, and for me as well, it tended to occur at night. I found that Bee's diet was the only thing that has ever truly helped me. I am still healing, but I AM HEALING. " Air hunger " has been tied to thyroid issues which are really tied to Candida issues. Our metabolisms and immune systems break down because Candida overgrowth causes the cell walls to go rigid and they no longer receive nutrition from our food. Personally, I found my air hunger attacks were especially triggered by my having too much sugar. I seemed to have a threshold and I could eat a little sugar and just have other problems, but when I ate too much, the breathing problems would result. And " sugar " means whatever the BODY recognizes as sugar: so that's alcohol, spelt bread, grains, dairy (not butter), etc. That sugar-free jelly is also bad because of the toxic chemicals it's made with. Sugar also wreaked havoc on my digestive system because it fed the yeast. My digestion was a mess for years. All of this has been brought into line by following Bee's diet. No other Candida diet worked for me (and I tried 3) because they all allowed too much sugar in their protocols and they did not encourage the good fats which heal the hormone systems and the body as a whole, they also didn't suggest the HCl supplementation which turned my world around. I was never receiving what little nutrition I was ingesting because my stomach acid was too low to digest my food properly. I encourage you to read Bee's Getting Started material and her explanation of what Candida is and how it works. Many healers have a faulty or incomplete understanding of the beast and just want to throw herbs and anti-biotics at it, but you have to strengthen your immune system so that it can change Candida back into a friendly organism. Here's one link and the rest are on Bee's site. http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro1.php Read as much as you can and get back to us with your questions. Guest guest
I don't know if my problems are definitely caused by yeast.. " Air hunger " is exactly what I've been experiencing. It feels like there isn't enough air in my lungs,or in the room, and that my lungs have forgotten how to breathe. Or maybe my diaphragm, or maybe both. Why don't my doctors even want to look at this as a possibility? They won't even test for its presence in my system. Maybe they don't want to admit that they messed me up in the first place..with all of the antibiotics. I must admit that I am resistant to the idea that I have to go on the strict diet. With a family needing me to cook for them every night, it will be nearly impossible to satisfy the requirements of the diet and cook food that they will find satisfying. ~Kari -- In , " bonemilk27 " <bonemilk@...> wrote: > > Hi: Please let us know your name. Guest guest
I am currently having air hunger issues that are getting better day by day slowly. Back in July I spent 5 days in the hospital getting pumped up with strong antibiotics and other toxic drugs. This diet will definitely help you. However, I noticed that you mentioned you had sugar free jam. Those items are not allowed. Your kids also probably have candida since they crave sugar also. Give this diet a try, I am sure it will help you. ALso get your thyroid tested. Breathing problems is a big issue with thyroid problems. By the way, this program will also heal an impaired thyroid, too! Guest guest
This is an interesting topic as I've noticed within the last two weeks (about when I started the diet) my asthma has sprung up. I've had to use my neubilizer machine (with albuterol) quite a few times and even that didn't help much. My inhaler (again, albuterol) actually makes my asthma worse when I check my peak flows! I'm trying to stay away from the drugs and focus on getting my Candida under control, which I now feel may be related to my asthma. I have an appointment with my Holistic Health/ M.D tomorrow, so I'll be sure to bring it up and see what he says. ~ in California > > Hi: Please let us know your name. And welcome. Guest guest
mary, i absolutely believe asthma and candida are related. when i was a teenager, after a few years of being a vegetarian, i developed eczema and asthma, and was given steroid cream and a steroid inhaler. the inhaler only made my symptoms worse, and i can thank my doctor for this if only because when i recognised that he'd given me toxins, it began my awakening into health! unfortunately i held on to vegetarianism for many years after that. still, i recognised that certain foods would trigger my asthma, in particular, garlic! i avoided garlic and got rid of the asthma. i still had eczema, however, until i stopped eating about 20 food sensitivities, plus sugar, beans, grains, and cow's dairy. until i came here and realised that i was reacting to garlic because of its anti-fungal properties, and really went the whole way that i needed to - no fruit, lots of good fats, no nuts, low carb veg. my skin has never looked this good in the middle of winter, and i can eat small amounts of cooked garlic comfortably. it sounds like you're retracing asthma, is that true? i would stay definitely with the diet but make sure you going slowly. my eczema increases when i go too fast. elisa On 13-Jan-09, at 4:32 PM, nidrockbug wrote: > This is an interesting topic as I've noticed within the last two > weeks (about when I started the diet) my asthma has sprung up. What you are having is similar to a panic attack, which can happen any time, day or night. But Marissa explained best by calling it " air hunger. " > I've had continual problems with yeast infections since the year 1996; the year after my twins were born when I was continually getting sick and was on antibiotics for an entire winter. I may have some immune disorder. It's really hard for me to get well once I get sick with anything. I've had a cough originating in my bronchial area for over a year now. >>I had spent a lot of money on a dietitian about 10 years ago re. the > yeast problems, and was on a strict yeast free diet for awhile. I have 3 teenagers now, who don't like to eat anything but fruit and carbs. +++Like Marissa wrote, please read so you understand this program, and the foods allowed, and why they are not allowed, etc. Spelt bread, sugar free jelly and brown rice are not on the diet, for very good reasons you'll understand after reading. +++It sounds like your teenagers have an addiction to sweets/sugars, which is very unhealthy for them. They, too, might have candida which makes people addicted to sugars and high carb foods, including fruits. Fruits are one of the worst foods since they make the body produce more insulin very quickly. Even healthy people should only have 2 fruit servings per day, along with plenty of " good " fats I recommend in order to slow the release of sugars into the bloodstream. > I don't understand if my breathing difficulty has anything to do with the yeast or not. The doctors are clueless. +++Yes, your breathing problems are related to yeast for sure. We are here to help and support you, but please read first. Marissa referred you to the getting started article, but also read: " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " in this section on my website: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/candida/index.php The best in health, Bee

Guest guest
Hi . Also saturated fats are extremely important for lung health, since their cell membranes must be constructed out of 100% saturated fat, i.e. coconut oil, butter, lard, etc., in order for them to be healthy - see this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/treat15.php Also candida toxins (and other toxins, even your inhaler) makes cell membranes rigid/stiff so nutrients, the immune system's healing substances, hormones, and even water aren't as able to get into the cells where they are needed to do their job - see Candida Causes Cell Membrane Defects: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/cabout1.php I hope that helps you understand.
