If you bought whole bark, you prepare it according to this recipe: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro2.php#s33 Bee
Guest guest
Thank you Bee. It is not tea bags, so I will follow the instructions of the link you posted. Marisa
Guest guest
Hi Marisa: Just want to make sure you are aware that the best place to search for answers to questions is on Bee's website. She has a wealth of info there and you will find articles about all aspects of the diet. As for the Pau d " arco: if you are making it as a tea to drink, just follow the instructions on the box. Brew it like any tea. You can use bags, you can use loose Pau d'arco. You can drink it hot or cold. 4 cups a day is the recommended amount. Guest guest
Hello!! I have read most of the articles but I just couldn't find the info about the preparation of that tea. I used the search engine of Bee's site and the results were some posts about pau d'arco but not about how I can prepare it. I am sorry that you had to do double work for me. I will search more before I post!!!!! Thank you all for all the help. Marisa
Guest guest
> > I have read most of the articles but I just couldn't find the info > about the preparation of that tea. Hi Marissa, How to brew Pau d'Arco tea has been discussed on the group many times. Besides searching Bee's website you can also search archived messages at our group website. With a quick search using the terms " brew Pau d'arco " I easily found these two for you: first, from Debra NW in message #36867: " In making Pau D'Arco tea you use 1 teaspoon loose dried bark per 1 cup water, boil for 5 to 15 minutes. I usually make up a quart or two at at time using about 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons ( I like it stronger) of the bark per quart. I bring it to a boil, then lower to about medium heat so it will continue to boil. I put a lid on it, set the timer for 15 minutes and make Bee's Raw Egg Drink while I am waiting for it to be ready. One thing you want to keep in mind is not to boil it for too long as it will develop a bitter taste. " And, from Bee in message #36877: " The best quality Pau D'Arco is the pure loose bark, but it is very difficult to find. When using loose bark follow this recipe: How to make Pau D'Arco Tea using loose bark: -Put 1 heaping tablespoon of tea in a sauce pan and add 1 quart of water. -Simmer on the lowest heat possible for at least half an hour. -Allow the liquid to cool. Strain and pour into a glass jar with a tight sealing lid. -Keep it in the fridge and sip the cooled tea. -It may be reheated if you prefer to drink it warm but do not boil it. -It keeps for two days. Drink 4 cups or more per day. " I hope this helps, jackie

Guest guest
actually I din't know the word brew. English is not my native language, I am from Greece.....I just used the words " Pau d'arco " and the results didn't seem to answer my question. I guess I should be more patient and read them all carefully. I feel really bad that I made you answer something that has already been discussed a lot. I promise I 'll do my best not to do that again. Marisa

It is not a tea bag and it didn't come with any instructions. ++Hi Doris. I didn't know you can buy powdered Pau D'Arco. Usually when it is powdered it is in capsules, which I do not recommend taking. Maybe you can call Mountain Rose Herbs to see what they recommend for making tea from the powder, and how much to use per cup. The only thing I can think of is to put the powder in a tea bell, but if the powder is too fine it will fall through the holes in the bell. You could tie the powder in cheesecloth tightly, but I don't know how much you should use per cup. Then you can boil it in water for 3 minutes, like the tea bag instructions, and simmer it another 15 minutes. Bee

It's just that some people ask before they try to find information first. I can see you are trying hard to find information first, so don't worry. All of your questions are very important to us. So keep on asking. That's the only way you'll learn so you can be in control of your own health. Luv & Hugs, Bee

I use Pau d'Arco Tea - and I get it frome Prince Imports, Inc. They have an excellent product and has free shipping within the USA. They also have a 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the tea. Their website is: www.princetea.com. Their tea which uses the inner bark is finely ground. The instructions are included with the order. After boiling you can put it through a coffee-press (like you would with ground coffee) - works great. >
