Guest guest
Hi Vicki, Did you get the Spot Test done too? That would help Dr. Flechas to see how deficient you were to begin with. Are you taking 3 g or more of Vit C/a day b/c that is supposed to help the NIS issue. And if you have Free T3/T4 test results to share with him that might help too and saliva cortisol test results. He told me that iodine helps the adrenals which I was relieved to hear. -Marlena > > Hi all, > > I've been on Iodoral for a month now, currently have worked it up to > 50mg daily. Guest guest
The spot only tells you how much iodine you have had in the last 24 hours. It is mostly meaningless. Guest guest
Well, I messed up the spot test by not being off iodine for 48 hours. I misunderstood and was only off iodine for 24 hours. My bad. My dr. would not draw T4 and T3, although he did do a one time cortisol blood test. But as I understand it you need to check it several times a day. I will have my other blood work test results ready to read to him, though. Good idea. Thanks. > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > I've been on Iodoral for a month now, currently have worked it up to > > > 50mg daily. Guest guest
I don't think it's meaningless because it helps to show an NIS problem. Many people who just do the loading test may get a very false impression of sufficiency or near sufficiency, when in actuality they are excreting the iodine without absorbing it. That happened to me, Fortunately I had the spot test done too so Dr Flechas could see I was very deficient even though my first loading test showed 73% excretion ... Guest guest
According to Dr. Shevin at the last iodine conference, there is no relationship between iodine sufficiency and the spot test. He said the spot test will only tell how much iodine you have ingested in the last 24 hours. Guest guest
Oh, that's interesting. I hadn't heard that. I wonder if there is a disagreement about these things or if everyone is on the same page at this point. Do you know much about Dr. Shevin? I love homeopathy and was considering consulting with him. -Marlena > > > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > > > > > I've been on Iodoral for a month now, currently have worked it up to > > > > > 50mg daily. Guest guest
I don't know anything about him other than listening to him at the conference but I was very impressed with what I heard. If you have the opportunity to consult with him I would love to hear about that. He was the only one at the conference that really addressed the people that don't tolerate iodine. Not that he had a whole lot to offer but since I don't tolerate it, I was glad to hear him speak about it. Irene At 06:38 PM 7/15/2008, you wrote: Oh, that's interesting. I hadn't heard that. Guest guest
Hi Irene, What is your experience with not tolerating it? I am curious if you want to share. I have had one symptom improve so far but otherwise I feel the same or worse - it's been 6-7 months on 1-4 Iodorals/day. But what I've read is so convincing that I want to keep trying .... -Marlena > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I've been on Iodoral for a month now, currently have worked it > > up to > > > > > > > 50mg daily. Guest guest
Irene, I love homeopathy also. I just asked Darla if anyone has discussed doing something other than a low dose of steroids. It seems there should be a better option., then Cortef for our adrenals. Guest guest
Hi , I'll let Bee answer your questions about foods and supplements, but it seems that you haven't yet read her website. You should have been emailed a couple of articles to get you started, but if you haven't received them yet, take a look at these articles on how to overcome candida: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu2_8.php There you will find info about foods and supplements. I know what you mean about feeling lonely and overwhelmed. Especially in the beginning it's really hard to get your head around all of this, but just keep reading and start doing Bee's program. You will find your body doing some really amazing work to heal itself. Soon, it will all become second nature to you and you'll be an ol' pro! There's a nice bunch of people on this forum who are all going through the same or similar things as you are, so stick around and get informed about how you can finally become healthy. All the best, > > Hi Bee: > > I have suffered for years with repeated yeast infections, vaginitis, they never seem to go away. <Snip> I am feeling like crap and feel very alone through this process. Your time is greatly appreciated. I could use some help - I feel sooooo very alone and overwhelmed!!!! > > Thank you- > > Bezio >
Guest guest
> > Hi Bee: > > I have suffered for years with repeated yeast infections, vaginitis, they never seem to go away. My gynecologist just kept prescribing different things to take (prescriptions). I got allergic to alot of them. They would go away and then come right back. > > I have so many questions - this is all new to me. My doctor finally told me I had Candida. I am just starting diet etc. (again - started before - got better went back to eating regularly - came right back again). +++Hi . Welcome to our group. I had vaginal yeast like you, for over 25 years before I cured my candida - it took me over 2 1/2 years. The only way to cure candida is by building up your immune system, which what this program is all about - so like said please read and learn about the program so you understand what to do and why. <snip> +++After reading you'll find that you should not take a number of the supplements and treatments you are now, particularly Boric Acid (do a search on my website since it is damaging), and Candida Clear, which is a cleanser that dumps too many toxins into the system at one time. Do cleansing the natural way with my program. You'll understand once you read. <snip> > > I have been looking for Coconut Oil - Cannot find it. +++The articles you need to read explain what kind to buy, and also the Candida Diet foods. > > Will I have to be on this diet forever? +++No, but in order to maintain life-long health you'll need to provide your body with " proper nutrients " - which isn't the North American Diet by any stretch of the imagination - that's what got us sick in the first place. When you read you'll understand the basics of nutrition and how the body heals itself so you can follow Nature's Laws on health. > > I do appreciate your time and hope you can help _ I would be so > appreciated of that. I am feeling like crap and feel very alone through this process. Your time is greatly appreciated. I could use some help - I feel sooooo very alone and overwhelmed!!!! +++Yes, it is extremely overwhelming. You currently are " trying to take too many things " so please read, so you can lessen the die-off symptoms you are experiencing and go through natural healing more easily. We are here to help and support you so you too can get healthy - for encouragement see the many Success Stories by members of this group: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/success/index.php The best in health, Bee
Guest guest
**** Wow : You are taking a lot of stuff that is unnecessary for your healing. In addition, your questions about foods make me think that you have not read any of the " Getting Started " literature. This diet is very specific and if you read all the stuff Bee sent you when you joined, you will have all your questions answered. Can you read that info first and then get back to us?
