Guest guest
Hello Everyone (caution this is a sad one),I went to a viewing last night. The viewee(?) was a colleague of mine for over 20 years. He was a gentle, kind man and a gifted vascular surgeon. We would speak casually everyMonday morning as we got dressed for surgery. 10-15 minutes of discussion on cars, sports, general gossip, it was how we always started our week. After looking at him in his casket and watching an endless carousel of pictures, I could notstop wondering why he took his own life. He had his share of family problems, ill-health, andfinancial difficulties but he ended it all last Wednesday in a small park behind his office. It was at the lunch break; he walked out and never came back. All last night I tried to imagine what was so devastating to him. The last Monday I saw him I was so busy with trying to rearrange a scheduling snafu in the operating room I hadno time to speak with him. No one knows why it happened. Anyway as for me I flew to Texas Thursday to see a surgeon about repairing my shoulder. When Stills hit me I also had a disease called Parsonnage- strike. The result was anirreversible paralysis of a muscle in my dominant right shoulder. I have struggled withthis lame shoulder for two years. I can't raise my hand over my head and a lot of whatI do requires just that. The surgeon said he does a procedure about 3-4 times a year forpeople with this condition. It would improve function possibly 50%. He advised I seekfull disability. I asked him whether he had ever operated on a Stills patient with osteoporosis, compromisedimmune system, and plainly unpredictable immune status. The answer was no and the risk offailure was higher. So far Orencia has been a little better than Humira. I have reduced my steroids to 8mg a dayand I think my brain is clearer than it has been in a long time. The flip side is that it only lasts about three weeks and you receive it every 4 weeks. It is very costly on my insurance plan.Pain in my muscles and joints still occurs regularly on a totally unpredictable basis. Two nights ago my left forearm literally felt like someone stuck a red-hot poker in it.It lasted 15 minutes and was gone.My perspective on pain has changed. Guest guest
Hi All, Today has been my worst day for a very long time. I started on the low carb diet 3 months ago and have been getting more restrictive as I go. The diet has been been very low carb for a few weeks now and recently have included anti-fungals and a probiotic. Since being on this diet I have been very fatigued some days worse than others. Today has been the worst of all. So tired I haven't moved from the couch all day, sore tummy, horrible brainfog and a nasty headache all day. What I have noticed that very slowly my digestion has been improving whilst on this diet. Before starting on this diet I would break into a sweat during meal times and would be very fatigued after meals. My stools have also improved on this diet - although since starting the diet they are always dark green - prior to the diet they were pale. So I guess days like today is the result of the detox that my body is undertaking, not much fun though. Hard to keep happy and optimistic when things get really bad! On days like this I try to imagine myself riding my bike again or sitting in a restaurant by the beach in Thailand to encourage myself to keep going. I totally understand how you feel since I was horribly fatigued and had the symptoms you have for a few months on my candida program too. Here's some immediate help: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/help2.php If that doesn't work you might be well advised to do the 9-day program at this point in time, which will help you get through some of these severe die-off symptoms: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig6.php Keep me posted on how you do, and what helps you. Guest guest
Hi, ! I read your post like I wrote it! I still have days here and there where I just have no energy and can't think straight. They are getting to be less and less. I had what you are experiencing every day in the beginning. I'm so happy that I stuck through it, though it was horrible. I like your idea about using visualizations to get through those tough days! -----Original Message----- Since being on this diet I have been very fatigued some days worse than others. Guest guest
Thanks Bee, I tend to avoid ascorbic acid as I have lots of muscle twitching (especially on days were I'm detoxing fast) so I worry that the ascorbic acid will chelate vitals minerals from my body. What do you think? Thanks, > > > > Hi All, > > > > Today has been my worst day for a very long time. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for you reply, good to hear from other people who are a little further down the track than I am. How far into the program are you now, and how long did it take for you to start having some better days? Imagining my life gain after all this is what keeps me going Regards, > > Hi, ! Guest guest
Hi , you're welcome! I've followed a low carb diet off and on for several years, and more recently started eating Bee's way. I eat mostly meat, fats, and take supplements, because of my digestion and craving issues with veggies. It took me 2 weeks of eating strictly to just START to feel better. Probably more like a couple of months now. Everyone is different. I know some people who feel better after 3-5 days. I know a woman on another list who had such horrible fatigue, for several months. That is what keeps her from cheating, she said, she doesn't want to go through that again. It is a pain having to rest a lot in the beginning, but do it if you can. And don't cheat. Every time I did that I felt good for a day, then had to go through the fatigue all over again. I guess my body is very sensitive. -- -----Original Message----- , Thanks for your reply, good to hear from other people who are a little further down the track than I am. Guest guest
Hi Bee, I'm not sure where I saw the reference to ascorbic acid chelating minerals etc. I read way tooooo much on this topic, which just leads to more confusion really. The problem is when your life is on the line..... Regards,

Guest guest
Hi Sara, Thanks - it feels like things are just getting worse and worse at the moment, the fatigue, brainfog are getting worse every day whilst following this diet. Over the last 2 day my digestion has also taken a turn for the worse. Hopefully I can just continue to 'push' through it and there will be light at the end of the tunnel. I understand there is so much conflicting information. Ascorbic acid would not chelate out minerals, in fact it helps our bodies absorb and utilize minerals. If ascorbic acid chelated out minerals no one on this group would be getting healthy, and it couldn't cure cancer like Orthmolecular Physicians have been doing for over 60 years. Guest guest
There is a light ! I know it seems crazy to go through what you are going through when you just seem to get worse and worse. My family and friends were like " why are you doing this to yourself, you're just getting worse and worse " - they were very unsupportive. Now that I am through the worse and getting progressivly better, they are becoming more supportive. You just have to have faith and know that you WILL get better! Hang in there! -Sara From: alex_tunbridge <alex.tunbridge@...> Subject: [ ] Re: A bad day Date: Saturday, January 3, 2009, 12:21 AM Hi Sara, Thanks - it feels like things are just getting worse and worse at the moment, the fatigue, brainfog are getting worse every day whilst following this diet. Guest guest
Hi , yes, they have always passed through my body pretty quickly, undigested, no matter how much they are cooked, or raw, or what kind. My dad has had this same problem his whole life, and one of my low carb eating friends has developed this as well. I guess it just depends on the person. Some people digest them just fine. For some reason (perhaps because they " exit " my body so fast) they make me crave bad things, so I just have to have a lot of will power and wait until they are, ummm.... " gone. " I feel and do so much better just eating meats, fats, and taking supplements. -- -----Original Message----- Hi , So you find that you can't tolerate low carb veggies either? Guest guest
: Have you taken a coffee enema yet? It will clear the toxins out and help with your die-off. Also, are you on the 9-day program? Guest guest
Hi Marissa, I tried a colonic a little while ago and it totally floored me for a few days. So a bit hesitant about enemas. I have reduced my diet back to semi solid foods again. Regards,

Guest guest
*** Colonic is not the same thing as coffee enema. The coffee enema encourages your liver to release toxins more readily. If you are feeling so bad and are having major die-off, the coffee enema helps your liver to release more, more quickly. It gets you through the die-off quicker and more efficiently. You will take a clear water enema first, then take the two cups of coffee mixture and hold that as long as you can up to 11 minutes. (Full details on Bee's site under the instructions, I'm going from memory here). The coffee enema is not so much about washing out your colon, it is about using the coffee liquid to release the toxins stored in your liver. And it does not send caffeine into your system, it will not " wire " you at all. Best, Marissa > > I tried a colonic a little while ago and it totally floored me for a > few days.
