Cheaper? I beg to differ I went to my local Health Food Store because I ,

temporarily, was out of Coconut Oil... I did find an Oil that looks good and

next to it was a box of VCO in capsules form..The price for the container with

60 capsules $20 dollars... I would honestly say that 300 of these capsules would

occupy less than a pint... with room to spare...

Advice to the poster about VCO in Capsules form. Buy a gallon and start taking

a tablespoon a day.. increase to more, I personally take at least 6 Tbsp a day,

Use it also as body moisturizer , you will most likely see positive changes in

a few weeks

franz -- yeah maybe i was checking prices too quickly and got

confused .... yes i want to buy a gallon but a little insecure about

quality and taste. i guess nutiva is a good bet. thanks.

been using for about a month now ... not quite 2-4 tbsps daily

(still thinking it will make me gain weight) clothes are looser.

(although i am vegan now for about 6 months which may account for it)

the coconut oil in capsules is obviously a more convenient and

+++Remember Janey, that menopause is not a disease. It is very

natural process which shouldn't cause any health problems. I don't

believe in perimenopause, since the term was coined by the medical

industry to turn menopause into an illness so they can treat it with

drugs.

+++Your hormones will go on a roller coasted because of candida since

its toxins cause all of the cell membranes to become stiff/rigid.

Read more about this connection to hormones in " Candida Causes Cell

Membrane Defects " ;

coconut oil supplements i can take instead? or would that not give me

the same effect as the oil itself. I use the Garden of Life brand.

+++If you don't like the texture or feel of cod liver oil, you can

rub it into your abdomen instead of taking it by mouth. It will be

absorbed just as effectively. After you rub in the cod liver oil

well, cover it with a piece of wax paper, and tape it on. You can

also apply heat to it which helps absorption, but don't use an

electric heating pad. Heat isn't totally necessary, just helpful.

After 1/2 hour you can remove the wax paper.

I found this out from a Doctor Book written in 1904. Amazing eh?

Big hug to you too, Bee

+++Hi Janey. I'm so sorry I wrote about cod liver oil and not

coconut oil. No, there is no substitute for coconut oil. Garden of

Life is an excellent brand. Does the taste or texture of coconut oil

bother you, is that why you ask?

Bigs hugs, Bee

I am having a problem with this too. I don't like the egg drink and I

don't like to east CO plain. I was thinking of putting it in capsules.

Does anyone else do this? I know it would take a lot of capsules but I

have to get coconut oil somehow. I was thinking of trying to mix CO

with stevia, maybe it would taste better.

>Just cook with it in the fry pan.

I also put in on all my food.

Mine tastes really good...I have bought several places. Walmart has

it in the vitamin section in Pharmacy...in a white plastic fat jar.

Try Walmart, and see if that isn't better.

On eggs its good...on meats...I pour the excess oil when I cook meats

right back over the meat...I even drink it off the plate.

I use sea salt on my fried foods too

+++Hi Becki. Cook meats in coconut oil and pour it all over them.

After you've cooked veggies put coconut oil and butter on them too.

Also you can add coconut oil to soup or tea.

+++Lola. Please ensure that Wal-Mart's coconut oil is the right one;

it must be unrefined, undeodorized, unbleached, and cold or expeller

pressed!
