If you will visit Dr. McCandless' LDN and Autism forum you'll see just

how LDN performs in her patients who have an abundance of candida

yeast. McCandless is the doctor who performed the LDN clinical trial

with Autistic patients and people with various autoimmune system

diseases. Now she is conducting the LDN and HIV clinical trial in

Africa. McCandless uses candida fighting supplements and diet with

her autistic clients and any other adult with an autoimmune system

disease willing to do diet and supplements.

It's McCandless' research that has shown many here that it's best to

tackle candida yeast overgrowth. But it is up to us whether we want

to get better or continue to feel lousy. I prefer to feel better and

keep my candida yeast under control as much as possible. I am also

one who has never experienced a MS relapse while on LDN, will be 5

years in July. I have progressive/relapsing MS, a form of MS that

never see's remissions and has acute exacerbations that generally

leaves some permanent damage. Well, with LDN, keeping my candida

yeast under good control and getting exercise I have been in remission

5 years with no relapses within that 5 years with my LDN use and

candida yeast fighting protocol.

Dear ,

I have been on Diflucan for 4 days now and hopefully I can get my

candida yeast overgrowth under control. I am the one who posted

about LDN not working after working really well for 5 months. I

just need some reassurance that what I am doing is the right thing

and LDN will work it's wonders again. I did notice some saliva

coming back 3 hours after I took the first Diflucan but the

following days the saliva production stayed at that level with no

further improvement. When I was first on LDN, it reversed my dry

mouth in just 8 days and I am wondering what should I be expecting

and how long I would see some real results. I know that there is

no definite answer but your reassurance that what I am doing

(Diflucan and diet ) will bring me back my health would be able to

keep me going.

Thanks ,

Chris

Dr. McCandless uses Diflucan with many of

her patients, she recommended it for me. Of course I cannot give you

any guarantees. I will say, the more you do for you health the better

off you'll be in the future. You may not be 100%, I am nowhere near

100% well but I've come so far that I am thrilled to be where I am

today. Along with the Diflucan I did an extreme low carb diet for 6

months, no dairy or any sort of yeast with that low carb diet. I made

sure I took extra potassium and magnesium and a good multi-vitamin and

drank plenty of spring water because a low carb diet pulls fluid off.

I did supplements of Garlinase(garlic high in allicin) took 3

Garlinase per day, took 4 probiotics per day(Solaray brand of

Multidophilus)--it's the refrigerate kind, Oil of Oregano, Olive Leaf

Extract, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Capryllic Acid, Apple Cider Vinegar,

YeastMax and ParaMax and LiverMax by Advanced Naturals(I have a site

that you can order these kits from) the company sells in bulk but they

gave me a site to be able to order individual kits. I detoxed

something fierce. Looked like I had chicken pox for 2 weeks, had

hives, nausea, headache, extra fatigue, dizziness but I survived.

I do a candida detox 2 to 3 times a year now and a Liver detox 1 to 2

times a year.

i notice the longer I am on LDN and continue to compliment it with

combatting candida yeast and doing Liver detoxes I notice some subtle

improvement every year. I have noticed this year that my eyes and

mouth are not as dry as they were when I started LDN 5 years ago. My

LDN causes dry mouth overnight but during the day that does improve.

I'm not using as much natural tear solution as I used to.

I have had to put myself into the mindset like Reeve did.

LDN gave me enough to help " ME " be able to put Humpty Dumpty here

somewhat back together, many of the pieces are still missing or have

major cracks but I keep on keepin' on looking for ways to keep what

I've got and possibly improve on it. Some of my experiments are duds

and some only do a little and every once in awhile I'll try a

concoction and say, HEY, looky here at what this did, ain't that

GREAT!! I make it a point to stay away from traditional doctors and

that choice has been a Godsend. If it's something my alternative

medicine doc cannot handle I'll resort to traditional. Haven't seen a

traditional doc in 5 years. I read many books on nutritional healing

and educate myself on supplements, vitamins and minerals.

The best book to learn from is Prescription for Nutritional Healing

Third Edition by and Phyllis Balch. There is a 4th Edition by

Phyllis Balch but I

have found it to be too heavy and bulky. It has 999 pages. The 3rd

edition is maroon in color, 4th edition is orange. Type in your

search engine like google, Prescription for Nutritional Healing Third

Edition by and Phyllis Balch

I feel I was born with candida yeast overgrowth, a huge abundance of

it and that was the cause of my autoimmunity. I was born spastic from

head to toe and with projectile vomiting and a left 6th nerve palsy &

had chronic ear infections. I screamed in pain so much as an infant

that I developed a hernia and had an outie navel until I was 9 years

old. I still have the hernia. I've never known life without pain. I

had daily headaches most of my life and lived on asprin. Spasticity

has only worsened over the years. I developed chronic diarrhea and

cramps at age 9 1/2, was almost 10, blurry & double vision by age 12 &

13 and things got worse and worse as years passed and chronic

progressive MS developed by age 26.

Wishing everyone the best with any treatment you choose.

I think the best part of your describing your health path / plan /

story is that you DID NOT GIVE UP.

You didn't specifically say those words, but as you describe trying

different things...and had the attitude, that if one experiment didn't

work so well....then you would try something else. Hearing this can be

an inspiration for someone struggling with their own path.

I also think your focus on nutrition is key.

Best wishes...

Hi

Your pharmacist isn't completely correct in saying that LDN is hard on

the liver. There were some results in studies where naltrexone (the N

in LDN) was used in high doses primarily for opiate addictions

(although there were a few examples in the studies using naltrexone for

alcoholism). These studies failed to control for preexisting hepatic

difficulties and only list the side effect of liver problems in an

anecdotal manner. Changes in liver enzymes are not a clearly

correlated problem with naltrexone use in otherwise healthy people

(much less in LDN use). In fact, LDN as used for autism in children

does not seem to lead to changes in liver enzyme levels.

Taking diflucan (150mg weekly) would be an unusual way to take this

drug for gastrointestinal candida. More typically, it is given

150mg/day for 14 to 30 days (although there is some literature which

suggests that the same affect on candida eradication may be had with

150mg/day every second day for 14 to 30 days).

Diflucan is okay to use with LDN.

Full dose Naltrexone, 50mgs, is considered hard on the liver. Low dose

Naltrexone is not.

>,

Thanks for your reply. Your persistence and courage are

inspirational.

My current diet is similar that all I eat are meat/poultry/fish and

vegetables. I try to drink lots of water as I go through course of

Diflucan, I find myself terribly constipated. I wonder should I up

my dose of LDN so LDN can fight through this period where my yeast

die off is emitting so much toxic into my body? Can I take

probiotics concurrent to Diflucan or should I wait after the 3 weeks

are up then start to replenish with probiotics? I am taking lots of

magnesium to help with bowel movement. My major die off symptoms

are dizziness, a lot of fatique, constipation and headache.

I am praying that LDN will relieve my dry mouth again as I haven't

had this symptom for a very long time (less than a month). My eyes

however was not affected as much as I still don't need to put any

drops in and usually they are fine with occasional grittiness and

tolerable stinginess. The dry mouth symptom is difficult to adjust

as I was completely healed for the 5 months. I am just hoping that

this time it's not permanent.

I am just so scared and your reassurance is really helpful because

the die off is hard and the future is uncertain. I really need to

keep a positive outlook otherwise life can be hard.

Thanks, Chris

I took all my candida fighting supplements along with the Diflucan.

Get some Rutin and take 2 in AM and 2 in PM for the constipation along

with 1500mg of mag. Consider doing a Liver detox after the Diflucan.

Forgot, are you on 3mg LDN or 4.5mg?

Did you possibly have an amalgam(mercury) dental filling put in prior

to the dry mouth and eyes?

Hi ,

Try Candidase by Enzymedica. It works by digesting the cellulose and protein in the yeast. Take it on an empty stomach 3x a day. I’ve been using it and think it’s great. You can find it on lots of different vitamin websites.

I developed problems with Diflucan over time. Be careful.

Hi ,

I was on Diflucan for quite a while and developed fever blisters on my lips. I stopped and they went away. I started again and they came back. That told me I needed to stop taking it.

1/1000 when using 300 mg day shows problems in the liver. When using 50 mg's pills each day it's necessary doing liver tests.

Note to MS sufferers using LDN. For MS LDN's main purpose is to halt disease

progression, not improve symptoms. If you get symptom improvement on LDN then

that's an added plus, only approximately 2/3 of those with MS using LDN will see

symptom improvement. LDN will not repair permanent damage already done. LDN can

halt disease progression and this can allow the body to heal itself but healing

is not a guarantee even if LDN halts the progression. Damage from paralysis may

never improve, hearing may never return if you've lost hearing or eyesight if

nerve damage has occurred. If you have candida yeast overgrowth or bacterial

infections you must clean them up for LDN to work properly. You may have to

clean up your diet. As doctor McCandless has said many times, LDN is not a stand

alone treatment. It's not going to perform 100% miracles unless one is very mild

relapsing remitting MS and has little to no damage.

Q: Dr. JM or anyone- Does LDN cause candida?

A: LDN has been noted to aggravate yeast infections and other latent pathogens,

viruses, etc. as the immune system is making early adjustments. It is good to

have natural yeast remedies on board when LDN is started (grapefruit seed

extract, Candex, lauricidin, hi-potency probiotics, etc) to help offset this

possibility. (And of course a good dietary regime that does not encourage gut

inflammation which is usually the predecessor to pathogen invasion).
