Bladder Cancer and LDN

Hello, my name is Judy. I had surgery for bladder cancer in 2004.

Since then I have taken BCG treatments every 3, then 6 months. This

next month should hopefully be the last of the BCG.

I am hoping to find someone on this group that is taking LDN

because they have had bladder cancer.

I do not take LDN yet. I know very little about it. I did ask my

doctor about it and he would not agree to it. He has no concept of

nutrition or any type of alternative treatments. He told me he knew

what was best, " that was why he was the doctor " . So it's no use to

talk to him about alternative medicines, or nutrition, or vitamins. I

tried talking to him about all those and hated myself forever trying

to discuss it with him.

I have really changed my eating habits. I rarely eat any sugar.

Try to mainly stay with vegetables and some fruit. I take a lot of

vit C and other vitamins and minerals.

But I think I want to take LDN. I have a friend that takes it but

would like to talk to someone that has had cancer that is taking LDN.

So I have a lot to learn from all of you.

I have just started LDN for a rare type of lung cancer called bronchial carcinoid. I don't know if there are other lung carcinoid patients on the site who have had success or lack of success on LDN.. Before I started it I scoured the LDN homepage and listened to the 2005 conference to really understand how it works. (all 5 hours of it), then clicked on LDN and Cancer. It seems clear from the site that to work in cancer, the actual cancer cells die off best if they have opioid receptors.

Perhaps the best way to find out if your type of bladder cancer has opioid receptors is to contact Dr Bihari or Dr Gluck and ask. You would have to have a very definite path report which you could fax to them and then get their advice of likelihood of success in your case.

If there are any lung carcinoid patients using LDN, please let me know how it has been for you.

Gayle,

Another thing you can do to help yourself is to keep your diet very

alkaline. Do a google search on Alkaline Diets. Montmorency tart

cherries are good for cancer. Put in google search Brownwood Acres

Red Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate.

My grandma is on LDN for Squamous Cell Carcinoma, had surgery to

remove tumor Dec. 2005 but was started on LDN Aug. 2005, surgeon was

surprised the tumor was so contained to one lymph gland, I hope it was

the LDN that did this. My grandma had no chemo or radiation and only

takes LDN and tart cherry as her cancer treatments and preventative.

She's doing so well her cancer doctor has released her from his care.

LDN has also halted the progression of my grandma's advanced

Alzheimer's. She takes 4.5mg and recently turned 88 years old, needs

no cane, walker or wheelchair unless we are going to do a 4 or 5 mile

walk in a mall.
