Hi :

We are new to the diet - I am using flax oil now to try and help with the

constipation - Zaki (17mo) is allergic to some of the stool softeners - so I

don't use anything not " natural " for him. How much flax do you use most meals?

(grams?) I was wondering If I can use it like the olive oil. Right now I am

using mostly olive oil with a little flax - I would like to increase the flax as

he is only having a bm every 3-4 or so days right now. Thanks

Hi

I hope you do not mind if I jump in.I also use alot of flax oil and

our dietitian suggested to limit it to 5 gm per meal,so ph gets

up to 15 gms a day.Actually he can tolerate even more, but our

dietitian said flax oil can make blood too thin if used in excessive

ammounts espesially if cholesterol level is normal. We have not

noticed flax oil helps with BM.I am very reluctant to use any stool

softeners so I give ph almost every morning " cereal " .ph can

have 2.71 gm of carbs per meal.I can fit 3.5 gm weat bran

there+cheese and butter. It works really well for BM.I boil bran

untill it soft and absorbes almost all water in the pot. Then I add

cheese to melt and butter. Then I flavor it and add sweetener and

ph loves it.It actually looks like oat meal with melted cheese

in.It has been working for BM very well.Maybe you should try

something like that if Zaki is allergic to stool softeners?
