Plaquenil allergy rash ramble amble

hee... hee... turns out the little red dots blew up to a big

splotchy rash abt 2 days i started my first (of 2 weekend doses)

400mg plaquenil ...

they start out little red dots, itchy and and feeling like small

prickly bumps on the skin... they get bigger and redder and

eventually join up to cover the whole skin area...

some low fevers at first but luckily no signs of flare.

my rash has first taken over the torso, the neck, the face, arms and

legs (both still in progress), puffing up everything it touches.

been stuck in the ward as the rheumy team anxiously observed for

mouth ulcers and skin boils, ... signs that the drug has damaged the

internal organs , namely liver i think. finally 5 days later, i was

home since the worse is presumably over.

the first areas of rash took over a week to come down to a dark

color but i've been told that when the whole process is over, i'll

be back to normal.its gonna take a very long time...

been off plaquenil for a week now, wat's next? enebrel? MTX?

REMISSION!!!!

lesson i've learnt: dun underestimate the power of the little red

dots... extreme discomfort can follow.

give me my atarax...
