Allie is making a huge jump in her verbal communication. At the same

time, she seems to be regressing in behavior. It's making me nuts!!!

She's doing VERY well at verbally expressing her wants/needs. At the

same time, if we don't do exactly her desires, she FLIPS out. I think

on a biomed front it's the adjustment to paxil helping the increase,

and possibly yeast since she just finished amoxicillan for strep. I'm

going to increase probiotics.

I guess i just need support that it, too, shall come to pass. I'm

feeling very nervous today with my ear still throbbing...

TIA,

Debi

We're on our third 'scrip for strep throat in six weeks and are seeing

similar good/bad stuff here...So I can offer some empathy, at least.

this too shall pass!

Maybe it's in part because for so long with autistic

kids, we get used to we say it and BOOM it happens

(aka we use ABA on y'all LOL) and so WAIT is a really

difficult concept, and NO is like, oh no you didn't.

On the behavioral front. This is so totally not a

condemnation, either, because I use it all the time in

teaching self advocacy (first we teach the child that

s/he will be heeded, then we teach the child why s/he

cannot be heeded 100% of the time).

It will pass, or lessen. Her brain is getting used to

more Paxil action, too, which can make people testy

even if it does help language.
