I have end stage liver disease from alcohol, so I won't be of much help as far as hep is concerned, but I was hoping you'd be able to help me. The question I have is - did you have porto-systemic encephalopathy? How high did your MELD go before you got a liver, did you have splenomegaly and last but not least, did you have pain? Mine is from alcohol abuse. I am a recovering alcoholic. I hope the doctors can get your aunt on the transplant list as soon as possible. Guest guest Report post Posted October 18, 2007 My aunt had Hep C, by the time she found out she had hep C it was too late to give her any treatment for it. The doctor's said it was too late for any treatment and that it had converted to Cirrhosis. She had her first appt at USC. They did some blood work and she also has her next appt in Nov.
