Question about taking antihistamines while on the candida diet

I've just joined this group after reading Bee's wonderful web site for

a while. I started on the diet about two months ago and have been

experiencing a lot of die-off symptoms. One of these symptoms is

really bad allergies (nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, itchy

eyes). I have been taking an antihistamine (Zyrtec) which greatly

reduces these symptoms.

Am I preventing natural cleansing from taking place by taking an

antihistamine??

Should i just stop taking the antihistamine and deal with the symptoms

as part of the cleansing process??

Any help is greatly appreciated.

==>Hi . Welcome to our wonderful group my friend! Yes you will

be suppressing symptoms by taking drugs. You didn't get those symptoms

from a lack of drugs, and any and all drugs are poisonous to the body.

What you describe are healing reactions, and not actual allergies. The

body creates more mucus in order to eliminate toxins, which includes

nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, etc. The key is to give your

body the nutrients it requires so it has what it needs to heal itself,

and also eliminate toxins.

There are so many things you can do to make yourself more comfortable

during the healing process, including helping your body detoxify.

Here's some articles to help you:

---Hi ,

I have been an " allergy " sufferer for years! Not the typical watery

eyes, runny nose, sneezing..but severe congestion which affected my

sleep which affected my whole life. About a year ago, before Bee, I

was tested for allergies, positive for grass, wheat, trees, ragweed,

cat, dust...etc. I took shots weekly but found I had to keep uping

the dose and was still taking antihistamines and decongestants. I

even had a CAT scan and considered sinus surgery.

But, then came Bee! It is spring Northwest Ohio...I have fields on 3

sides of my house, I mow at least every 3-4 days, I have oak trees,

a cat, and dust in this old farm house...AND NOT A HINT OF

CONGESTION, NOT AN ALLERGY SHOT NOR ANY OTC DRUGS IN 7 WEEKS!!! I

sleep so well! I am alert and feel 100x better than I have in years.

I still use a Neti Pot after mowing to flush out dirt and debris,

and a personal steamer just to keep my sinuses moist, but life is

good.

After reading Bee's information...I am wondering if I really

had " allergies " to begin with or if it was a reaction from the

candida. I am not " cured " of the candida, however I think I have a

very mild case and my sinus problems were the first to go.

(Hopefully I am right and I won't go through any retracing :)

Anyway, my suggestion, is wean off slowly. Getting " forgein " drugs

out of your body is the best way for it to heal naturally. You may

go through an even more difficult time for a while...but the payoff

is amazing. (Plus , you'll save money at the drug store and on Dr.

bills :)
