ny, I want to piggyback on what Beth has said here...  she has valid points and very good ones.  Please read her message over again...  now, I know that all of us telling you it's going to be okay doesn't make it okay.  And I can feel your wheels turning all the way over here.  Right now it doesn't feel okay and it probably won't for a little while yet.  I can't even begin to imagine how devastating that news was for you.  Beth can relate.  Beth has been there, done that and she has the t-shirt.

Here is the bottom line deal as it stands right now.  You had no choice but to stop treatment.  At the point you were at, you could have died if you continued.  I want you to consider yourself LUCKY that YOU were smart enough to recognize that something was really wrong.  Those people at the clinic sure as hell didn't recognize it.  Because of YOUR actions, a serious medical problem was uncovered and stopped before it killed you.  Now, in the grand scheme of things, that kidney problem could and would have progressed way faster than the Hep C virus can.  BUT because of your diligence and your perseverance, you were able to get a serious, life threatening issue diagnosed and treated.   I know the process of getting your kidneys back in shape is a slow one.  There is nothing I would like more than to be able to twitch my nose (like Bewitched) and make that issue go away.. but alas, I am just a water witch.

You hit a snag in your path to treatment for Hep C.  Just a roadblock...  not an impossible barrier.  I hate to say this, especially now, but I am a firm believer in " everything happens for a reason " .  Really, I am.  You weren't getting the best of care at the clinic.  You were going thru this horrendous treatment on your own with little to no help at all.  You were not able to get anything for pain or additional drugs to help you on treatment because you were on a clinical trial.  During my course of treatment I had anxiety meds, pain meds and 3 different stomach meds, all to make my treatment easier on me.  You had none of that.  You were experiencing treatment raw and at it's worst.  There is a better and easier way to go thru treatment than how you were doing it.

Now, back to my everything happens for a reason theory....  You and your Dad have been talking, he has decided to play an active role in getting his son well again.  He is going for the best hospital and doctors that can be found.  This is a blessing.  You can bet that the new doctors are not going to have you suffer thru treatment.  The clinical trial you were on was not for one of the new drugs coming out next year...  now you will have a chance with what will be a proven drug.  By the time it comes out, you will be in much better shape physically.  Your new doctors will make an assessment and get you started on treatment as soon as they are convinced your body can handle it again.  AND you won't have to go thru it by yourself.  You will have family and friends around you.

You have been thru a storm my friend.  A major storm.  But the storm is passing, the clouds are breaking up and the sun will be out again.  Right now your body is cleaning up the damage from the storm...   Go with it.

I love you kid...  Hang in there.  And I am still so very proud of you.  You have set a standard for perseverance that cannot be matched anywhere.  And on that note, I need to stop this water that is flooding from my eyes right now.

Hugs,TeriEvery time God closes a door he opens a window.  Sometimes you have to wait for the smoke to clear to find the window.

ny it really is going to be ok. I felt the very same way a yr ago. When I started tx my vl was 1.8 mil, during tx it dropped to 37,000, after being pulled from tx they checked it again 3 mths later 2.8 mil. I was devasted to say the least. I will be check again this Feb and am hoping for postive news. I think the virus goes a little cookie after being delt a good dose of poison. (just my opion) This was one of my questions before starting tx, " Will the virus come back with a vengance? " . He said no it is going to do what it is going to do, but I am not so sure about that.

Just hang in there you will be feeling better soon I feel alot better now than I did before tx. Just give it a little whille and keep drinking lots of water to help flush your system.

Your in my thoughts and prayers always. Beth
