Got down to 42* here last night, our furnace kicked in... High today was 64*... They said it has been one strange summer across the nation this year... We had almost 50 days of 90* or highter temps this summer and our normal is 13 days I think they said...

Stay bunndled up :o) Winter is on it's way!!!

((( Warming Hugs )))

Helen

You sure are right about needing to be bundled up esp in the morning. We went form the 90s and in three days into the 40-60 range. It has been difficult to adust whether I run the air conditioner or fan, or kewep them turned off. This is kind of the way we made transition into fall last year-real hot and then suddenly cold. carol

I'm Glad it was a long post :o) It helped you!!! THANK-YOU GOD!!! for getting the baby remain in a safe home enviroment!!! I'm Glad it is all over for you too!!! Now forget about the devil and his mate and go on from here...

Sorry your Father is so ill :o( I hope they can find some one to care for him too, so you don't have to keep going back there all the time to do the work...

Yes, Hubbys do get on our nerves, but then, think about it, we get on their nerves too :o) So Patience is the virtue :o) Another good saying--- If ya haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say anything :o) !

I know where your friend was coming from :o( it is so Hard to lose your child , as you well know, so we cling to even the smallest hope we have...

You try and Get some much needed rest!!! Then worry about the house!!!

Love and Hugs

Helen

Dear Helen, thank you so much for sharing with me. & Bless your

heart! And yes, it helped. And I will try harder to be nicer to my

grumpy old man. I have a bad habit of not talking, just shutting down-

well, I'm sure nothing intelligent comes out when I'm mad.

One of my best friends turned her house into an ICU for a year & a

half, trying to take care of her daughter, who was brain injured in

an auto accident. Drs wanted her to pull the plug, but she couldnt.

That was the reason I took the hospice training. She called me one

night, and said what am I doing??, she wouldnt want to live like

this! I assured her, I would have done the same thing. The next day

she died. I know she, or God, was waiting for her mom to be ready. I

have to be thankful that we didnt have to go thru that.

Court=hell. Had to listen to that * & %#@ judge commend the GIL for

all her hard work! Not to mention just having to sit in the same room

with the devil. The only good part was the devils spawn wasnt there.

But its over, and Raquel is safe, and well set up for life. She will

get a nice income monthly the rest of her life, has a great college

plan for 5 yrs, then some big payments after.A structured settlement

w the ins co. My dtr wont have to work, and can stay home with the

kids, and would have really liked that. They tried attaching

a letter from the maggot atty, saying thier agreement on final

custody depended on the meaning of the words reasonable visitation-

meaning they would continue to get her for one long weekend a month

plus, like they had been (or revoke thier agreement?)! I almost had a

stroke. My atty says it is unenforceable, it was there to pacify him,

there is no visitation unless my dtr ok's it. So here is a good

reason she got custody- I could NOT deal with those people and this

BS for the next 15 years! My Aunt Pat, always my voice of reason (but

a little preachy), told me if they asked, I had to forgive them. So

when he walked up to me after court, with a big sickening smile on

his face, saying hi, like he was greeting an old friend, I turned &

walked away- as fast as I could go. Praying, protect me from evil,

like a mantra. It works. Now if I could just take a deep breath and

go on.

My dad is just getting weaker and more confused. I watched him one

day try to use the phone, for 20 min, just couldnt figure it out, and

wouldnt let me help him. So I know he wouldnt be able to call for

help- IF he would even admit he needed it. We keep someone with him

all the time, but he is starting to resent us "bossy women", cant

take it from his girls. He still needs to pee, and cant make it the

4hrs thru dialysis, and has started to wet himself, which is sooo

awful for him. One day he had the urinal straight up in the air,

peeing in it, but all over himself, and yelling at me to do

something. They dont want us to stay in there with him, I was in the

waiting room. They want us to just dope him up so he doesnt give them

any trouble. Then let him out with a bp of 100/30! Took me all night

to get him 1/2 way stable. Got him a wheelchair quick,(of course he

doesnt like that!) my back is still killing me. Got the handlebars up

all over the bathroom, and he has a new throne with handles. He wants

to sit in there for hours, I have to tease him he's going to get ring

around the butt sores, like one of my pts had. Thankfully he still

has his sense of humor, most of the time. He didnt go to dialysis

after I left- dont know yet if he just needed a day off, or if he has

quit. Hes taking it one day at a time, and he's the boss.

So sorry this is so long! Guess I really needed to vent. Thank you

so much for being there! Please be feeling better! Love,

angelbear1129@...

Well said ! How are you doing?!

Helen :o( our system stinks you know that now I'm sorry i've had to find

this out the hard way!!!! The way the laws work kids aren't protected at

all!!! Teachers, day care workers, doctors, nurses, ect... they are all

required to report abuse but all the ones I ever saw never did! Seems like

the same with your girls, makes me so mad! It amazes me that they will make

a child stay in a home with parents that abuse them and treat them terribly

when they have family or other adults that want them and love then and treat

them like children should be treated! When I ran away from my mother when I

was 13, I went to the police station my grandpa use to work at. I asked them

to call his old partner and I told them all that was going on. They said

they called Wayne and he told them to handle it for him but when I talked to

him weeks later Wayne said he never got a call and if he had he would have

been to the station as soon as possible! The officer that handled the case

never called CPS, all he did was take me to Nana's and I was there a week

before my mother got me back. *I* ended up having to call CPS that Oct,

again in Nov. and again in Dec and I wasn't taken until Jan. the only reason

I was able to stay with Nana the four years we went through court was

because of my age (13 almost 14) and because I told them I would run away

again and I wouldn't go to the station the next time. It always amazed me

how Nana and I followed the rules just as they were written I showed up to

every court date, but one and I was in the hospital that time but My mother

never showed up to court, was in contempt of court FIVE times and nothing

was ever done to her. It took 4 year, two counties, three courthouses, 6

judges and TWO custody battles (one between Nana and my mother and one

between the Sioux Indian Tribe and Nana) before my mothers rites were even

taken away and another 4 months before the adoption was finally over. Write

EVERYTHING down, tell the girls not to be afraid to tell teachers, the

school nurse, doctors, nurses, police men, fire men, neighbors, family

friend, just ANY ONE what is going on at their fathers. The more reports

that are made the faster things seems to go!! I know you tell the girls how

much you love them, tell them you will ALWAYS be there for them no matter

what happens and you will always love them no matter what anyone ever says.

If their father is anything like my mother I'm sure he's told them you guys

don't love them anymore and lies like that. Kids know better but I know for

me it always felt better to hear nana confirm everything I believed!!!! The

thing that always helped me when I was little and my mother would take me

from Nana was every night at 8pm I would go to my window or my doll she got

me and say our goodnight to here and she'd do the same thing at 8pm every

night she'd go to her window and say her goodnight to me. I hope something

is done for you and the girls and SOON!!!!!!!! Please take care of yourself

the girls need you!! Give them lots of hugs for me please!!

Hi :o)

The high's here are in the 30's this week! I'm Cold!!!

Sounds about the same that you have!!! We received almost 3 inches of snow the other day... We have another one inch coming in tonight... Yes, the pics I have seen of the snow on the mountain tops looks so pretty :o)

I'm glad that your Father is out of the hospital... I can relate to the fear in waiting for the phone to ring :o( Its aTerrible, Painful wait :o(

I seen the eye doctor wednesday, I was Sure I needed a new prescription, but I didn't... All the trouble I am having he said is from all the illnesses I have :o( Lupus (SLE) being the main factor :o( and could be the scripts I have to take along with them ;o(

I had a bad flare of pleurisy this week :o( It got so painful, I could barely move with out the pains shooting through...

I Love your initials you gave, I had a Good laugh on them, so did Ross!!! It seems like all of our diseases have initial, so it fits in SO nice!!! I'll have to add them to my list ( which would make 22) that I carry for all the doc's, C.R.S.!!! When they ask me what those stand for I can tell them!!! :o)

Take care...

Love Ya

Helen

Hi Helen! So nice to see you post! How are you doing? Hows the weather there now? Its been pretty cold here in the mornings, but it warms up to not quite freezing by about noon. No snow here, but I can see it on all the mountains around us. Its almost pretty- if I'm in front of the fire. We went & got firewood on Sunday, and had dinner with our friends out on the farm, it was nice. They have a woodstove too. & Hooch, our dog, had a ball. Been keeping busy, cooking & cleaning- kind of gave up on the cooking, the cleaning could last forever.......Daddy is out of the hospital & home. Been kinda waiting by the phone a lot & afraid to tie up the line w the pc.

I guess I'm going to have to break down & go to an eye doc. Will have to drive an hour and a half, to Farmington, to get to an insurance dr- damn insurance. I think I'll call them first, and take out all my meanness on em. Really having trouble here at the pc, & at night. Its got something to do with the lights. I havent taken plaquenil for years. BTW, I read somewhere that if it is causing problems, you wont be able to see blue, or shades of blue? I have CRS. (cant remember sh*t) Well, maybe now thats a good thing.

You take it easy, and take care of yourself. Love,

Hi Helen! Oh, I hope you've warmed up some. We are just waiting for

the big storm to hit us, they closed I25 this morning. Maybe it will

miss us? (not with my luck)I heard on the news it never got above

freezing today. I called my dads tonight, and told them we might not

make it for Thanksgiving, and I guess my sister had just called- she

went ahead & got a turkey, just in case. My other fear is I might

take this crud with me. & I never made it to the dr today- had to

wait for the plumber & roto rooter- another nightmare. I am sure the

cold flares me, hurts to the bone. Have you gotten over the

pleurisy/knife inthe back? If I lean forward it helps. Another gift

of Winter? That was one nice thing about staying at my dads last

winter, he keeps that place like a sauna- drives everyone else nuts

but me. And I'm sure the vision problems go with the lupus too, cause

its not constant. Right now I think there is a lot of inflamation,

(like my head is about to pop) so that must be the problem. And I

probably should get more Salagen, the mucous membranes dont seem to

be having any problem producing now, but my eyes are dry. So maybe

its the sjogrens....

I sure hope you are feeling better. Stay warm & take care. Love,

Hi !!!

The girls were here and they baked me a cake :o) To me that was Great!!! Was a bit ill this year on my B/D so didn't go anywhere... Just having the girls home was enough :o) We both share the same B/D and I think that we BOTH need a Good Year ahead!!! :o)

If you have pericarditis, then Why aren't you in bed??? I was infected with pericarditis back in 1968 and I was Bed ridden for 6 months and the next six months I was only allowed to walk around in the house from one room to another... I could barely breath and my heart was terrible in its beats... The pain was intolerable at times... (They think I got it from going to the dentist and having my teeth cleaned!) But then I also had Rhuematic fever with it :o) Maybe thats why? Anyways, Get Off Your Feet!!! Pericarditis is nothing to mess with!!!

The pluerisy is better, my breathing is better :o) I still can't move very good, but that will come back also in due time... I still move with caution as not to cause the pain to get any worse at times...

How did you get all that baking done??? I would Never have been able to accomplish that...

I think the price of scripts is outrageous!!!

How are you feeling now??? Taking it easy like your suppose too??? Didn't think so !!! :o) What is energy??? Lost that years ago and it has decided to stay away I guess!!!

Love Ya

Helen

Hi Helen! I am so sorry I missed your birthday. Happy belated birthday wishes! What did you do? Hope you had a cake & a wonderful day. & most of all a wonderful year ahead.

Have you gotten over the pleurisy yet? I sure hope so. I read that it may take 2-6 weeks to really subside - IF you take it easy, & no exertion. And, of course treat the underlying reason. Damn lupus. I finally made it in to the dr, sure I had pleurisy & maybe pneumonia.........well its pericarditis again. I had completely forgotten, he told me last time if I had to lean forward to breathe thats what it was. Damn CRS. So....it wasnt such a good idea to travel 5hrs & cook Thanksgiving dinner for everyone. So I sent what pies & such I had already made with my dtr, and then had 1 day to get it together here. It wasnt too bad, they helped me- Jer even helped me make a blueberry pie, and it turned out sooooo good, it was the 1st thing gone. How was your Thanksgiving? I feel bad, I didnt even get on here & wish you all a happy day- I just felt rotten & overwhelmed.

I'm done taking the Z pack, and this is the last day of the Medrol dose pack - used to work real well, but it's still there. The cold is better tho. I really didnt have the $ to get all the rx's, so I didnt pick up the Prilosec, its so expensive and I thought I could do without it, so now my tummy is giving me fits. I hate taking medicine, then more medicine to deal with the effects. I also forgot that one of those scripts was for the lab, for blood work, and I just found it in my purse this morning, gettin the kids lunch $! I dont think she meant for me to have the tests after the steroids.......... so now I have to go look like a dummy. I guess I'd better call & fess up, before I waste the $ -maybe I wont have to go.

So I guess we're on take it easy till Christmas. Yeah, right! Well try, I dont have enough energy to do anything else. Love,

Hi Helen! Boy, you light up this message board when you are here!

Thank you so much for the links, I looked it up last time, but I

really didnt pay attention, it all blends into technobabble

sometimes. ..and I just dont want to deal with it. But I read every

word this time. What can you do anyway? Take more pills & tests ($$$$,

and then blame it on the lupus). She didnt tell me to go to bed. lol

You're the only one! And you are right, and thank you! It is better,

(the chest pain), just ran completely out of steam. I dont know what

I was thinking, I have just always cooked a lot, and they expect it,

aand I guess sometimes I try to power thru it. Yea, denial is bliss!

I'll deal with it later if it doesnt knock me down.

My birthday is Oct 19th, dont know who Sue P is. So glad the girls

were with you on yours, thats a great gift! And they made you a cake,

how sweet!

Now, you take it easy, and get better. Thanks for being out there!

Last week was my first week at work as there was a delay in the paperwork so

they had to put the start back a week. I am enjoying it but find it all

rather strange at present - mainly as I am unsure as to what I am expected

to actually do!!!! My Boss is both manic and laid back at the same time so

he is like a whirlwind flying round but doesn't actually seem to acheive

very much. I have managed to clear two piles of papers off his desk which is

seems overjoyed about and I feel as if I have done very little......

hopefully I'll be able to feel more at home next week.

We have an " away day " on Wednesday where we all go to a conference centre

and make plans for next year (the year starts 1st April) so that should help

me to focus on the targets. Maybe I am wooley at present as we don't have

set targets to aim for??????

I miss the chats as well but maybe once I am settled into the job I'll be

able to log on at work and join in - or if the chat continues long enough

I'd be home to join in towards the end!

Hope you liked the snow diary!

Hi :o)

Yes, we have a full basement that our son lives in, but we go down there during the storms when they get bad...

We live in an old farm house, but it is all ours ! :o)

Oh, Please don't feel guilty about telling us of your lovely weather... I'm glad that you received such a Lovely day!!! You Deserved one!!!

The girls and Ross planted our little garden on Mothers day also... They cleaned the yard and we planted flowers that they bought me...

I do alright until my heart starts to beat wrong then that sends the B/P up and that causes me to get very light headed... The aches and pains have been out of control for some time now, so until this weather settles down some, that will continue on :o(

I so wish you could get to a REAL Dr. !!! There are some real good ones here in Toledo that would probably do you wonders...

Please take care being in the sun... You know you and the sun don't get along very well...

((( Love and Gentle Hugs )))

Helen

Hi Helen! So good to see you posting! Hope you are feeling better.

Do you have a basement, or storm shelter, or what do you do?? Please

stay safe!

I feel so guilty now, talking about how pretty it is here. We were

getting the 50 mile an hour wind warnings for a few days last week,

but thats all. We could have used some rain. Denver got a real heavy

wet snow on Mothers Day- the 1st real nice day we've had. I got a

beautiful birdbath, and now I'm obcessed with getting it into the

garden, but too sore to finish. I bought tomato plants yesterday, so

I figure it will freeze hard one more time- right after I plant em.

Right after I finished pruning the roses, and running warm water

over my sore hands, wondering if they'd ever work again, the rheumies

office called- my blood tests were all "fine", and she doesnt think

we are dealing with lupus. ?right now, or at all, or what, I dont

know, I give up! This is the dr that doesnt like to check, cause the

numbers can change every day.... I did check, she did a thyroid

(cause I asked), a CBC, and an ANA- "still positive, but low". So,

I'm going outside! And I'm going to enjoy every minute of it, if I

can!

Hope you are having some fun. Love,

Hi Lee,

Have you been Peeking??? :o} I got real bad last Sat. at the Cherry Fest. I had to sit down for a while and get my sight back before we could go on... The girls want us to go with them to Cedar point this year, but that is something I don't think I am going to be able to do with out being in my wheelchair, and I have been too stubborn lately to use it at all ... I guess I don't want to admit defeat, but I also don't want anyone to see me using it until this court case is done with!

How are you doing today???

Love Ya

Helen

Helen, don't forget to take your own advice about NOT

overdoing!!!!

So glad the girls continue to improve!!

Hi Lee,

The tooth that was pulled still is very sensitive in that area... went and caught a 48 hour flu, plus now a cold on top of that... just doesn't end...

What were the Botox shots for??? My mouth too is awful dry because of meds, he said that doesn't help me any at all either...

((( Special Hugs )))

Helen

It's so good to hear from you. Teeth probs are awful. For awhile I had to have my cleaned every three months because of meds decreasing my saliva.

I had BOTOX shots in my neck but they were no help. I also tried and discarded a new med regimen after 3 weeks of being exhausted.

Hi Lee,

No, sorry, I don't drink too much juice... I only grab it when my sugar is low, because it plays havoc on my stomach... But I Have been eating chicken noodle

soup Made a big pot the day before I went completely down... Freezes up well too...

The dentist has me on Previcid 5000 for toothpaste and even that the druggist changes to a generic one as the ins., won't pay for the brand one... And I have a generic mouth rinse they give me also...

Hows the Torticollis doing??? Does it ever give you any rest???

Take care my Friend...

My blood line goes back to the Early settlers on several of the names... My Spring line they have documented all the way back to 420AD, Its archived in Washington DC... I is a decendant of Royalty :o) We have princesses, princes, kings and queens, thats how they have all the dates... But we slipped along the line and married the butler!!! :o) Them ole rascals, i's could have been Rich!!! I'm always looking for info when I have time...

Hi Helen! Boy, you have been busy! Thanks for all the links & info. I got so lost reading last night, I never wrote. Which is a good thing. I was too stressed out. Raquels final adoption hearing was this morning. The Luceros didnt show up. It is finally over. Well, legally. The judge ended with a stern lecture(to my dtr) on how the childs welfare was THE primary concern- not her extended family. i.e.- she can tell them all to go take a flying leap now. He did his homework. He asked will Grandma please bring Raquel to the stand? (I was sitting with the girls feeding them M & M's 2-3 at a time out of my purse, quietly distracting them- wondering why in the hell would they want little kids to hear any of this...)And then he asked her what happened to her tooth, then sternly, did the tooth fairy come? When she said yes, he said good, just checking on her.He then waived the home visit, and any waiting period. It is done.(((((relieved hugs))))) ps- are you doing family history? I noticed s in your surnames- my maternal grandfather was Marvin Albert s, married Faye Marvin.(my alltime favorite people in the whole world) I have some history on him, his family was from Scotland.

If any of you with mouth problems, particularly geographic tongue(it used to

be an ailment recognized by the medical community anyway) uses white bread,

you might want to try using whole grain bread for a while. I did it as an

experiement with my family to see if we would be healthier. I don't know how

well it worked, but my son with geographic tongue ceared up completely in 6

months. That convinced me it might be good for something anyway. I had

started using the wole grains because of the book I was reading on

nutrition.

Geographic tongue is definitive becasue it looks like a topographic map on

the tongue with what appears to be layers in different colors. Its sore and

aggravating and causes pain when acidic things are in the mouth.

Dear Debra,

Thanks for asking how I am. I hope you are OK at the moment. My stomach

has bad days and good days. The docs have put me on a rigorous diet and are

giving me proton pump inhibitors and calmants for the stomach. Still pretty

painful though - they think it is probably related to all of the other

inflammatory symptoms I have - perhaps a sign of Crohn's disease because I

get a lot of IBS. The real nightmare is that I have to completely stop

anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers. Perhaps i will be able to take

Vioxx again in 3-4 months, but anything else is a definite 'no'. This means

I am in a lot of pain... :-( and my allocated soluble paracetamol isn't

helping much.

Best wishes to you all,

Helen xx

Hi Sharon,

Glad to see you posting :o) I've been having computer problems so have

been absent for a few days, sorry for taking so long to get back to you and the

others :o( ...

Yes, we get the thundersnow every once in a while, it is amazing isn't

it... I live in NorthWest Ohio about 50 miles from Lake Erie... We got up to

70

degrees from the 30's, so the drastic change is what brought the threat of

tornado's... I too hate the tornado season, was frightened too many times as a

child with them :o( Have seen two small ones hit and several go over head in

my lifetime :o(

Our hometown school has already had to extend school two days more do to

weather delays this winter...

Do you ever ride in the electric carts that most stores have nowadays???

That might be easier for you...

I know, things cost so darn much :o( Is there any help in your town for

folks that have no insurance that might be able to help you??? Do you have

degenerative arthritis??? We ahve several folks on here that have dixc problems

with their backs

:o( I too have emphysema :o( Its a bummer isn't it :o(

Thats good that your able to comtrol your diabetis :o) I have

hypoglcemia, low sugar...

I lost 62 pounds last year from stress alone, I would like to lose another

35, but doc said only 15 to 20 more... I like my goal better :o) Good luck

in the weight losing, its hard to do, but you will do it :o)

Sewing is what I do, just have too many things going at the same time... I

can only do so much at a time and then the sharp pains come back so have to

lay low for a while again, then as soon as I am able I get started again... I

won't lay around and feel sorry for myself... Did that back in the 70's, went

trough the depression and all those good things, but no more... Have too

much to accomplish before I end up in that ole wheelchair for good!

Keep on a postin :o) Glad that you are :o)

((( Pain Free Hugs )))

Helen

Hi,

See i am posting LOL!! Just to say thanks for the nice welcome and to

answer a few of your questions.

Yes we did get the snow, about 5 inches of it, all the schools were

closed again for the day. Lots of roads closed, it was a real heavy

snow, anyone ever heard of a snowthunder storm? Well i didn't until

this morning, it snowed, it was lighting, and it was thundering.

Wisconsin doesn't get the tornados until April or May and then thru

the summer. I hate it when the winds pick up, makes me really

nervous.Where are you from? I didn't realize there was any where

there were tornados now. But then this has been one messed up winter

anyway. The kids have missed 5 days of school already, this keeps up

and it will be July before they get out LOL!

I came down with the arthritis about 1995, it started in my hands,

they were 3 times the size they should of been. I was seeing a

general practioner then and he doses me up with Predizone. It did the

trick but i didn't know until after i started taking them that they

had so many side effects. I am still on them but went from 25mg a day

to 4mg a day. I hope to get off of them completely. I started seeing

a reumytoligist short after i got the arthritis cause my general

practioner wasn't doing anything for me.I have been seeing her for

years and she does have my arthritis controled to a certain point.I

have had trouble with my back for a couple of years now. Been

thinking about physical therapy, but don't know if that would help

and how much it costs.

Yes my arthritis has alot to do with my back, but i have i cant

remember what all is wrong with my back but there are some disks that

are bad, my whole back is full of arthritis. It bothers me to walk

but if i have a shopping cart i am ok. My doctor says that i am

bending over with the cart and that eases up the pressure so it

doesn't bother. There is surgery that mite fix it, they do not say it

will fix it for sure, there isn't even a 50% chance that it will fix

it, but with no insurance there is no way i can have surgery done

anyway.

I have emphysema which i got from smoking. I know real stupid but now

it is really hard to stop.

I say mild diabetic cause most of the time i can control it with

diet, or atleast i try anyway. I started out with insulin but was

able to get off of it. I need to lose some weight really bad.

I collect mostly stuffed teddy bears. Just a kid at heart i guess. I

also like to collect porcelain cats. Just call me catlady, love cats.

My 2 are spoiled something terrible.

Sounds like you are a very busy lady with the crafts. I am not very

good with crafts. I love to buy them but only if someone else makes

them LOL!!

Well i will go for now, have a good weekend.

Hugs, Sharon

Hi Anne,

Sorry, already answered your letter :o) I'm glad that you are feeling better... You have every right to have been so down... You have so darn much to deal with... yes, closure will help a lot if you are able to do it...

Let the snow MELT!!! You have no business out there shoveling!!! Oh seeing the birds would have been so beautiful!!! I haven't seen any Grossbeaks this year yet nor the cedar waxwings... Our Robins are back already though... We have Nuthatches and woodpeckers year round here...

Keep the chin up... A breath of fresh air is around the corner!!! It Just has to be!

((( Springtime Hugs )))

Helen

Hi Helen

I do not think that you need to answer my letter that I wrote when so down the other day. I feel better, the priest whom I talked to said that I need closure on Fred. He said that on one bright spring day to go to the cemetery and that should do it. I am still living back n time when things were better and of course that cannot ever be again.

Seems strange advice but ya never know. Will take his advice and go on Easter Sunday.

Well yesterday after an 8" snow fall on Tuesday and more on Wednesday there was a treat in store outside. I have an old crabapple tree which has a lot of the dried fruit on it still.

Looking out the window at the dismal landscape I saw a flock of Robin lke birds descend on the tree having breakfast. I indentidfied them as Rose Breasted Grosbeaks who are on migration right now. Mixed in with them as fellow travelers were some Cedar Waxwings.

In the maple tree were some nuthatches and woodpeckers so I guess the whole lot were traveling together to go up to the North where they breed!

What a lovely sight they all were, just a moment in time Winter must be almost over, , but with a driveway cluttered with that snow and the blower broken, who would think it!

Having scoliosis does not help, I think I can do some things around the house, the back stops it very soon. NOthing can ever be done with that so will learn to live with it Funny it left when I was about 14, after being bad when I was little, its getting worse after so many years, no cure for it,I constantly tell myself to lean to the left when I want to go to the right! A brace might help but who knows about that either

Hi Sharon,

No need to be sorry... Folks on here get awful sick or very busy at times and dissapear for a while... I'm One of them :o) Bills are terrible every where :o( Medications cost so darn much and it seems to me that they could sell them for a whole lot less and Still make a profit!!! If Canada can, Why can't America???We actually have a bus here in Toledo that makes a trip to Canada once a month with folks to get their precriptions cheaper... One lady was on the news and she can spend the same amount of money of $900. a month here for her precriptions or go to Canada and spend $900. there for THREE MONTHS worth of medication... That is so sad :o(

Hope you have been having some luck on finding a truck...

Looking into the SSI or SSD can't hurt...

Yes, I Love my Grand Daughters dearly... They do keep me busy, thats the way I like it... It doesn't give me time to think about myself... This last Sun. though this Grama was pretty lazy... I just didn't feel very good... My ole ticker wouldn't behave, so thats Grama's cue to slow it down... The girls seem to understand and so we have a lazy day... I know I over did on Sat., so it was my own fault...

You take care and Keep in touch...

((( Good Luck Hugs )))

Helen

Hi,Sorry i haven't posted until now, been busy searching for a new truck on the web. We have some fininicial problems and it is kind of hard for us to get credit through a regular bank. Between the truck repairs, it has almost 400,000 miles on it, the meds that we pay out for. There are 3 of us here that takes meds, me with my arthritis and back, my husband is disabiled with arthritis and other problems, and our 16 year old has ADHD, and allergies. And gas is going out of site. WE need the truck for our work, we can't make it on my husbands SS. So we do the driving and one of our other sons stays to home and does most of the work. I have gotten so i can't even get in the truck. I just seen the post you sent for the SSI will check it out in a day or two. Thanks for posting it for me. I don't know if i would be eligable for SSI as my husband recieves SS, but i will look into it as i know i wouldn't have any problems getting it. Not with my medical history.Sounds like you have your hands full with your grandchildren, but it sounds like you really enjoy having them around. Keeps your mind off of other things, don't have any little kids in my life anymore. is the youngest at 16 but being a teenager he can make life interesting as well LOL!!I have alot of cookbooks but i haven't done to much cooking the last few years as it is hard for me to stand and my heart just isn't in it much any more. I still buy cookbooks which i love, read them like a book. Maybe if i could lose some weight, i would feel better. You have some good ideas with the losing weight, i did take off alot of weight about 10 years ago, when i was first got the diabeties, but gradually over the years the weight has came back on.Well gota go. Will let you know after i get a chance to look into the SSI. ThanksHugs, Sharon
