Don,

Thanks for your response. I have been lurking here since last Fall and active on another Hep C Forum. I'm 62 yrs old, dx 7 yrs ago as geno 3a, had biopsy then but not since(no insurance). I quit tx because of the depression and confusion, although feeling horrible 24/7 was probably part of it also. I've been active and healthy until about 3 yrs ago and I thought I was just aging badly. I now know it was the hep- my current problems are high bp, high bs and arthritus. I'm eating a healthy diet, exercise daily and feeling pretty good now. I've kept from going on meds for the blood sugar but Dr. thinks my readings are still too high (between 110 and 120 fasting).

I read your links and have done other research on my own. By the way, is it ok to refer to other hep websites here? Since so many HepC folks have diabetes or pre-diabetes ( since it's a symptom of the hepC), many of us must have this dilemma. I know I could cut down more than I already have on bread, pasta , rice, fruit and potatoes, but I'm already eating such a limited diet.

I went to the San Diego Zoo American Liver Foundation Walk last month and will attend the Newport Beach Liver Walk next week so I'm trying to do my part.

I'm going to check out the natural methods that recommended to me before I fill the prescription for Metformin. Thank you both for your responses.
