Guest guest
Beth,It's frustrating, to say the least... When I was in treatment, one of my nurses was very open with me, we had that kind of energy. She told me bluntly that during treatment, for many patients it seemed to be a race - which died first, the virus or the recipient. Now most of us have good enough medical staff and enough common sense that we're not going to die first, but it's frustrating that we're poisoning ourselves to cure ourselves. I can say that overall, when treatment is completed and you've SVR it was all worth it. Before and during it's so hard to justify, but the alternative usually isn't something we were willing to accept, or we wouldn't be in treatment in the first place. It comes down to what Don refers back to so often...we've got the disease, and if we can treat it, whether through herbs and supplements or big pharma or burning candles on a full moon standing on our heads, we love life enough that we'll whip the dragon whenever we can...SteveLife is much more fun when thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party. Jimmy Buffett Re: [ ] Thyroid Disorders and Hepatitis C - Beth Hi Beth We have to keep in mind that the I/R TX is helping many many people fight off the dragon, who might otherwise gone downhill. Im not totally down on it, but I sure wish some cure would come along that doesnt creat so many other health issues. Perhaps one day. HCV treatment and viral research is still very young, and new. Im sure the scientists are working their butts off looking for answers. love don in ks Thanks Don, I have been batteling thyroid problems since treatment I appreciate the site.
