Guest guest
You made me happy with the good news , you mean first they treat HIV and then HCV ? hopefully all of the co-infected people who suffer from this disease get good result , when your Dr said it treats in Asia ,I am sure it would be possible in outher countries too. thank you very much > > In response to you question Re: HIV/HCV. Guest guest
Glad to be of help, though I have to point out that having Hep C alone (or just not eating enough) could have led to the weight-loss, so no point worrying unless you know for sure. In the event it's a dual diagnosis, they generally treat the HIV first but it's important they treat the Hep-C as people with HIV have a higher risk of developing cirrhosis due to Hep-C. Good luck with the test! The problem I have facing is trying to convince ny hubbby to get the Hep-C treated to. It's like he feels he might jinx his current good health by wanting to be treated for the Hep-C as well.
Guest guest
It made me that you told Hep C alone lead to weight loss too , I would think because my husband suddenly became thin he certainly has HIV too, So we can have hope .Is it possible a person infected with Hep C through unproteced sex but dosent have HIV? thanks a million , > > Glad to be of help, though I have to point out that having Hep C alone > (or just not eating enough) could have led to the weight-loss, so no > point worrying unless you know for sure. > In the event it's a dual diagnosis, they generally treat the HIV first > but it's important they treat the Hep-C as people with HIV have a > higher risk of developing cirrhosis due to Hep-C. > Good luck with the test! > The problem I have facing is trying to convince ny hubbby to get the > Hep-C treated to. Guest guest
....you probably didn't get hep-C fromm unprotected sex unless you engage in stuff that causes exchange of blood. it may be possible but certainly not at all likely you'd get hep-C but not HIV that way from someone having both. get tested. > Re: Please help HIV/HCV !!! > > > > It made me that you told Hep C alone lead to weight loss too , I would > think because my husband suddenly became thin he certainly has HIV too, > So we can have hope .Is it possible a person infected with Hep C > through unproteced sex but dosent have HIV? > thanks a million , > > > > > > Glad to be of help, though I have to point out that having Hep C alone > > (or just not eating enough) could have led to the weight-loss, so no > > point worrying unless you know for sure. > > In the event it's a dual diagnosis, they generally treat the HIV first > > but it's important they treat the Hep-C as people with HIV have a > > higher risk of developing cirrhosis due to Hep-C. > > Good luck with the test! > > The problem I have facing is trying to convince ny hubbby to get the > > Hep-C treated to. She has taken treatment for the hep c and the hiv together and she's doing well. Of course, the treatment was no fun(understatement) but right now she's holding down a job she loves. Went from volunteer to part time to full time. She amazes me in her tenacity and her willingness to go through whatever it takes. I don't know that I could have done it but I think if you have enough will to live and be well, you can be sucessful. I have hep-c only but am not considered a good candidate for treatment. I have lost a lot of weight in the last few years. Once I lost 25 pounds in a few months. But I attribute that to lack of appetite. Food just doesn't interest me that much. I drink a lot of Ensure to keep me from losing anymore weight. Sometimes the Ensure will even stimulate my appetite and then I will eat something. Hope this helps. shirley
Guest guest
....the not-so-evil weed will stimulate appetite where the hep-C has diminished it. according to study results i read (referred to from something i read on this list) it also cuts the viral load by up to about 30%. for most it has an anti-depressant effect if it doesn't make you paranoid that big bro is on the way to your door. others find it helps a lot with the side effects of treatment but it's also apparently recently shown to diminish the effectiveness of treatment. treatment can cut viral load 90% or better but the pot can cut that in half according to what i read. i don't really know how the percentages were calculated. so if you're on hold for better treatments it might be a good idea, but if on treatment a bad idea. pot can make one flakey about taking the meds as/when required...it has a brain fog effect of it's own for most which is a big part of why so many people hate it. > Re: Please help HIV/HCV !!! > > > > > > > Dear All,2 month ago we found my husband infected with hepatitis C and > > he did Biopsy of his liver, the specialist said the liver has not > > damged a lot and she said my husband can do every activity and also he > > has not any diet , but she tested him for HIV also , we are too > > worried , my husnad became very thin 4 months ago and we suposed its > > because of his hard work. if he infected with both , is there any > > chance to treatment? > > best wishes for u all. > > > > > Hi , a friend of mine has hep c, hiv, and is also bi-polar. Guest guest
Thanks Bob-Where can I find info (legitimate, not war on drugs propaganda) on the " not-so-evil weed? --- bob Larson <bobLists@...> wrote: > ...the not-so-evil weed will stimulate appetite > where the hep-C has > diminished it. according to study results i read > (referred to from > something i read on this list) it also cuts the > viral load by up to about > 30%. for most it has an anti-depressant effect if it > doesn't make you > paranoid that big bro is on the way to your door. > others find it helps a > lot with the side effects of treatment but it's also > apparently recently > shown to diminish the effectiveness of treatment. > treatment can cut viral > load 90% or better but the pot can cut that in half > according to what i > read. i don't really know how the percentages were > calculated. so if you're > on hold for better treatments it might be a good > idea, but if on treatment a > bad idea. pot can make one flakey about taking the > meds as/when > required...it has a brain fog effect of it's own for > most which is a big > part of why so many people hate it. > > > Re: Please > help HIV/HCV !!! > > > > > > > > > > > > Dear All,2 month ago we found my husband > infected with hepatitis C and > > > he did Biopsy of his liver, the specialist said > the liver has not > > > damged a lot and she said my husband can do > every activity and also he > > > has not any diet , but she tested him for HIV > also , we are too > > > worried , my husnad became very thin 4 months > ago and we suposed its > > > because of his hard work. if he infected with > both , is there any > > > chance to treatment? > > > best wishes for u all. > > > > > > > > Hi , a friend of mine has hep c, hiv, and is > also bi-polar. Guest guest
....i don't know, i haven't really looked, just followed some links found here. i'll search my keepers folder & re-post whatever i find of interest. i just googled " marijuana hep-C " & got a lot of results...mostly don't look good. try googling NORML. they might have something outside of their political struggle of interest. > Re: Please > > help HIV/HCV !!! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Dear All,2 month ago we found my husband > > infected with hepatitis C and > > > > he did Biopsy of his liver, the specialist said > > the liver has not > > > > damged a lot and she said my husband can do > > every activity and also he > > > > has not any diet , but she tested him for HIV > > also , we are too > > > > worried , my husnad became very thin 4 months > > ago and we suposed its > > > > because of his hard work. if he infected with > > both , is there any > > > > chance to treatment? > > > > best wishes for u all. > > > > > > > > > > > Hi , a friend of mine has hep c, hiv, and is > > also bi-polar. Guest guest
I know it's hard not to think about it, but really, the only thing to do is to get tested. Nothing is predictable when it comes to these things! I was obviously a fool to have shared needles and have unprotected sex with my husband who later tested positive for both, while I only tested positive for Hep C. I don't know whether I got it from him and it really doesn't matter. The important thing is to get tested and treated if you need it. There's always hope.
