Guest guest
Thanks , I bought some BF calipers but have not used them because I used the calculator at Health Central when I first began and thought I should stick with it. I will get hubby to help me with the calipers and see what the BF is, I might like those results better lol! I am in week 6 so I won't weigh and measure until week 8, guess I can wait till then. They do say there could be a range of error at health Central. You have relieved my fears!! lol Thanks > ________________________________________________________________________ > > Message: 10 > Date: Fri, 23 May 2003 10:23:49 -0500 > From: " Skwigg " <skwigg@...> > Subject: Re: Help, I don't understand! - HealthCentral, OMG!! > > The other thing I forgot to add earlier... remember that the only 100% > accurate body fat test is an autopsy. Guest guest
Never having seen you, there's no way for me to tell which one is more accurate. I would guess that Biofitness is probably closer because it takes your activity level into account. Health Central seems to have given you an absurdly low lean mass. The only thing I can tell you for sure is to pay zero attention to the nutrition requirements that Biofitness spits out. It's that low-fat, high-carb, food pyramid insanity. :-) Re: Digest Number 1616 I went to the link you provided and these are the results. Does this seem more accurate to you? Guest guest
Both my brother and myself have been profoundly deaf since birth. Have worn HAs since we were 4 and 5 years old and is an excellent lipreader and speaks very well. Have had many years of speech training. I can tell you that HAs only picks up the environmental sounds but not to understand speech. When we both were turned on in July of 2003, we were amazed of many sounds we were hearing for the first time in our lives. After I was mapped on my first initial hookup, my 8 year old nephew was sitting next to me in the hospital cafeteria and not knowing I would expect him talking, I picked up every single word he said, " What did you say? " without even lipreading. My family was in shocked and speechless because they were not even expected I would pick it up. I was able to talk to my uncle on the phone three days after I was turned on and understood every words he said as he has a very soft and low voice. Since the technology has improved greatly over the years, I strongly believe that this wonderful technology would greatly benefit to everyone, especially the prelingual deaf. It is such an amazing that my brother and I can talk to each other on the phone as we were never able to do that in the past. We both can do pretty well talking to strangers and can talk to our family and friends as well. More and more prelingual deaf are started to realized that they are looking into CI after the prelingual have shared their stories. AVT is a very helpful and I highly recommended it. Debbie B. Guest guest
Hello all. I don't really have alot of time to post other than my info posts but since the group has come back to life and is no longer arguing (Gracie can verify that this place was horrible several years ago - I already told as she was absent then) Anyway, quickly, you did the right thing by setting new members to moderation. Then once you are sure they are posting about Hep C you can change them to normal group settings which would be unmoderated. That is how I handle all of my groups and I have kept the spammers out for years. - You will quickly see that Grace is appropriately named :-) She has the grace of an angel, always has, and I am proud to have known her all these years. How many now Grace? Four? Five? Anyway, she has a wonderful way with words and people that just lets the *grace* shine through. Sorry Grace...... not trying to make you blush...... just had to brag on you a bit :-) Grace...... Kathy can give you all the info on the March or you can put March in the message section here and the info will come up. Both Kathy and I have posted about it. I won't be going again. I will write you and send you the bracelets that makes. They are great! WOW Grace! I just looked at your pics. Those are some REALLY COOL items. That must take forever! just has bracelets. Most of the things reminded me of living in Arizona for some reason but you know my favorites were of course the PAWS :-) I am IMPRESSED Gracie! Awesome work! Also don't forget about my nonprofit please :-) We would LOVE to have you donate some things for us to auction off. HEALS is always in need of $$ and you can use it as a tax write off since we are a nonprofit. We try to do so much with so little but so far just doing things on a wing and a prayer has worked out :-) www.HEALSofNGA.org is the site but the name is changing to HEALS of the South soon. I am working on the paperwork now. There will be a new and improved website eventually. I am President this year Gracie and working way too hard! LOL I just hand addressed 160 postcards to Senators in two States about supporting the bill. I think my wrist is broken LOL I have collected them from people for the past month or so, then I hand address them to save people time, and HEALS pays for the postage. It is the small projects like this that require $$ that we don't always have so donations are always appreciated. We also try to stay active on many of the National Committees and of course things like Daytona to do the free testing during Bike Week. I am going to Atlanta Harm Reduction in May to do free HCV testing. All of this costs $$. Those Home Access test kits are expensive! LOL Anyway, I am off and running again. Forgive me if I don't post as much but I have alot of work coming up and I have alot of my own groups. You are doing a superb job bringing the group back to life! Keep up the good work! I am sorry to hear about your knees - we all need you upright and mobile with all you do! Now a couple of questions and I'm sorry if you've posted this and I didn't commit it to memory... Is there a March on DC this year and if so, when? I took a little tour of the photos - that was fun. I noticed there was an auction? I'd be interested in hearing about the fund raising - where the money is going. I'd be willing to donate some beaded something to the auction if needed. I also would like to know more about the quilt. I've been in a creative mood of late and would like to contribute a square or two to the quilt, so if you have info on that - I'd appreciate it. My completed bead stuff is here: http://pg.photos./ph/amazing_grace10/album?.dir=6d14 & .src=ph & store= & prodid= & .done=http%3a//pg.photos./ph/amazing_grace10/my_photosMost has been given away to friends and acquaintences. I did donate 2 dolls to PAWS in PA a cat doll brought $85 dollars and a little goddess went for $115. Warmed my heart to think I could help a little. I would like to see the bracelets, please do send an email to the address. Thanks again Pam for all you do! Grace

Guest guest
Bush meets with the Queen of England. He asks her, "Your Majesty, how do you run such an efficient Government? Are there any tips you can give to me?""Well," says the Queen, "the most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people." Bush frowns. "But how do I know the people around me are really intelligent?"The Queen takes a sip of tea. "Oh, that's easy. You just ask them to answer an intelligent riddle." The Queen pushes a button on her intercom. "Please send Tony Blair in here, would you?"Tony Blair walks into the room. "Yes, my Queen?"The Queen smiles "Answer me this, please, Tony. Your mother and father have a child. It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?"Without pausing for a moment, Tony Blair answers, "Well, your Majesty, that would be me.""Yes! Very good," says the Queen.Bush goes back home to ask Dick Cheney, his vice president, the same question. "Dick, answer this for me. Your mother and your father have a child. It's not your brother and it's not your sister. Who is it?"" I'm not sure," says Cheney, "let me get back to you on that one."Cheney goes to his advisors and asks every one, but none can give him an answer. Finally, he ends up in the men's room and recognizes Colin 's shoes in the next stall. Cheney shouts, "Colin! Can you answer this for me? Your mother and father have a child and it's not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"Colin yells back, "That's easy. It's me!"Cheney smiles, and says, "Thanks!" Then, Cheney goes back to speak with Bush. "Say, I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle. It's Colin ."Bush gets up, stomps over to Cheney and angrily yells into his face, "No, you idiot! It's Tony Blair!"MAY GOD BE WITH US THE REMAINING YEARS OF THIS ADMINISTRATION! Messenger with Voice.
