Guest guest
1) When trying to find a niacin, is any other form of it okay except niacinamide? 2) I read on my bottle of acerola that it doesnt contain sugar? Do they mean no added sugar? Or could they have taken out the sugar from the berry somehow? 3) The only stevia I could find comes in little packets containing FOS and inulin. Can I still use it for my egg drink? 4) Is there anything I can do to stop the ringing in my ears? Why does candida do that? 5) Is there a way I can get tested to see if it's a fungus causing the white pigment spots all up and down both my arms? 6) I was told by a Dr. that the white flecks on my fingernails were caused by a zinc deficiency. He put me on 30 mg of zinc liver chelate for about 4 months, which still didnt make them disappear. Then I stopped taking it about 2 months ago. I've been on this diet for about a month now and I've seen some improvement but they are still there. Should I go back on zinc? 7) Am I supposed to wait until the white flecks on my nails and the white spots on my arms and the ringing in my ears subsides before introducing some foods back into my diet? (Oh, I hope not, because I don't think I'll ever get rid of it) 8)I have not cheated in the past 3 weeks nor do I want to. I don't have any cravings and I just want to be finished with the strictet part of the diet. The problem is, my family got invited to dinner by some friends on Sunday and I know they will be serving things to break my diet. I guess what I'm asking you is, Can you recommend a protocol to follow after cheating? (I really don't want to, but I also don't want to cut ourselves off from loved ones) Thank You for you time,
Guest guest
Hi , I can answer some of this: > > 1) When trying to find a niacin, is any other form of it okay except > niacinamide? make sure you don't get " non-flushing " kind. You DO want the flush. > > 3) The only stevia I could find comes in little packets containing > FOS and inulin. Can I still use it for my egg drink? Nope, that's not okay. Look for the actual green leaf powder, generally found in the bulk bins at health food stores. I use a white version that I get online from http://www.emperorsherbologist.com/bulk-stevia.php Bee always recommends the green natural stevia herb though. > > 4) Is there anything I can do to stop the ringing in my ears? Why > does candida do that? I don't know why candida does that. A month is not very long to be on the diet though, hopefully the ringing will subside as you continue on the program. > > 6) I was told by a Dr. that the white flecks on my fingernails were > caused by a zinc deficiency. You're getting plenty of what you need through the recommended diet and supplements. We actually had a discussion here recently about white flecks in fingernails and found out that they are not always related to a zinc defficiency...you may want to check the message archives to find that dicussion. Again, as you progress with the diet, you should see the white flecks subside. I've got one in one of my fingernails right now, but all my other fingernails are clear of white flecks...they are nothing to be alarmed about. > > 7) Am I supposed to wait until the white flecks on my nails and the > white spots on my arms and the ringing in my ears subsides before > introducing some foods back into my diet? (Oh, I hope not, because I > don't think I'll ever get rid of it) If you are doing the whole program (diet, supplements, antifungals) with no other symptoms of your yeast overgrowth it's best to wait for at least a month of being " symptom free " before trying to add other foods back into your diet. Go slowly adding just a little bit of a startchy or sugary food and see how you do. > > 8) The problem is, my family got invited to dinner by > some friends on Sunday and I know they will be serving things to break > my diet. Hopefully Bee or someone else can help you with it. hth, jackie

Usually a dermatologist can diagnose it for you, but if I were you I'd be using coconut oil and/or tea tree oil on it and see if it gets any better. > about a month now and I've seen some improvement but > they are still > there. I guess what I'm asking you is, Can you > recommend a protocol > to follow after cheating? (I really don't want to, > but I also don't > want to cut ourselves off from loved ones) , the best protocol is not to cheat in the first place. If the really are " loved ones " , and I assume they love you too, they will understand you want to be healthy and respect that. Part of maturity is making good choices in what you put in your body, regardless of what other people, think, do or say. Remember when we were teenagers and our parents would say, " if your friends jumped off a bridge would you " ? Often we did many things as teenagers based on our peers, what others would think, etc. Some of us *would* practically jump off a bridge. The good sign that we are not teenagers any more is that we can decide for ourselves that we are not responsible for making other people feel good, we are responsible for making good choices. There are many ways to get around tricky social situations but first off you have to not be looking for a reason to cheat in the first place. There are many things that will come up that will make it challenging to stick with this, but a dinner party you know about in advanced with people that supposeably love and care about you isn't what I would consider a tricky situation. It's a situation you can plan for, communicate about (like letting your hosts know you won't be eating there or you have special dietary needs). Please reconsider letting this be a reason to go off plan. Luv, Debby San , CA It is a lot easier to act ourselves into new thinking than to think ourselves into a new action. Guest guest
Hi, I have just been lurking for the last several weeks. I'll intro myself in a separate post. I just wanted to offer some advice about the dinner invitation. There are things you can do to minimize any big cheats. You can cook up a (candida friendly)dish or two to contribute to the dinner. From the foods that are served take more of the good stuff and tiny or no servings of the bad stuff. If anyone pressures you to eat the bad stuff just tell them you have some food intolerances. Look around for some dessertish type recipes that you can have or that wouldn't be too much of a cheat. Cheating really can make you feel lousy for awhile after. Most of the time it's just not worth it. The food lasts for a few minutes and the feeling crummy lasts much longer. Try to have a positive outlook instead of going into it planning to cheat bigtime. I do feel for you, dinners with others can be difficult on this diet. I try to think of it more as time for family and friends than just eating. Have a fun time.
