Guest guest
..... does one get over the shock of 60 or will I still be in this dazed state for a while!??? Most of my family is long lived - and I am healthy and active so the number doesn't mean much - but having to say it or write it makes me freaking CRINGE! Dusty Re: att: Dusty Humfph! Spring chicken! Guest guest
Dusty, Being well over that age, my best advice to you is either lie or omit. If it is someone impertinately asking your age and who has no need to know tell them you don't tell your age or weight as a matter of principle. If someone wants to know who is just nosey but nice, lie. LOL Roni Dusty <dusty@...> wrote: ..... does one get over the shock of 60 or will I still be in this dazed state for a while!??? Guest guest
None of the numbers have bothered me to speak of. When I turned 60 I was in the hospital recovering from peritonitis, which had resulted in emergency surgery to remove a part of my colon and the temporary installation of a colostomy. Now _that_ was a shock. And three months later they opened up the exact same scar to do the colostomy take-down. I _do_ find it strange to be a teenager in a 67 year old body! [ggg]. I think in our culture it hits women harder than men; very unfair. After all, a man is only as old as the women he feels! [ggg] I tell my wife I'm going through my second childhood for the third time... Guest guest
I've never understood that viewpoint; and maybe partially it's another male-female thing. Our culture simply penalizes women for age more than it does men. Sad but true. But lying about it won't change the most important thing; and that is that I know how old I am. I see no real point in trying to fool myself. I'm 67; I have to live with it. Or not... > > Re: att: > <hypothyroidism/message/37798;_ylc=X3oDMTJxZzZuaXB\ rBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE0NTY2NARncnBzcElkAzE3MDkyNTEwODIEbXNnSWQDMzc3OTgEc2V\ jA2Rtc2cEc2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTIwODkwOTI4Mg--> > > > > Posted by: " Roni Molin " matchermaam@... > <mailto:matchermaam@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20att%3A%20> > matchermaam <matchermaam> > > > Tue Apr 22, 2008 3:20 pm (PDT) > > Dusty, > Being well over that age, my best advice to you is either lie or omit. > If it is someone impertinately asking your age and who has no need to > know tell them you don't tell > your age or weight as a matter of principle. > > If someone wants to know who is just nosey but nice, lie. Guest guest
I'm surprised at you . You are usually very quick on the uptake. It was a joke, son. Guest guest
LOL...... u r right, there is a teenager lurking under all these folds of skin! Guest guest
I've always marveled at the wonders of nature. Our feelings stay young forever, but our bodies don't, so right at the time our bodies start to look bad our eyes get dim so we can't see it, so we still feel young.
