Guest guest
Well I just got off the phone with ...we spoke for almost a half hour and she sounds good. In fact, she had to hang up because they were getting ready to wheel her over to the rehab floor. Let me see what I recall. She went into the surgical suite still a little awake...they had given her some ativan but she didn't go all the way out until they put the mask on her...so she was a little freaked out...but now says " hey, I survived it " . She had her sister stay with her for the night after she came out of ICU...she just felt when she needed to turn it was not in a half hour, it was right THEN...so she wanted more one on one...and her sister was willing, so that worked out. Dr Rand visited her last night...he took the central line out and straightened out the " no solid food " business, and gave her the " bling he had removed " ...Our poor was very hungry and they were not agreeing to let her off the soft diet until they had it from the horses mouth, I guess. She was threatening to order up a pizza...but she didn't have any money!! Apparently she has recieved over 100 emails and the woman in charge of that office came up herself to meet the " star " patient...she is the record holder apparently at NEBH! She says she has recieved all the notes and has appreciated them...when she wasn't feeling well enough to manage them herself her sister read them to her and they lifted her spirits. She is up and walking with a walker...can use the bathroom herself and has hopes for a shower this afternoon. With any luck she will feel pretty human after that. She says the hardest part is thinking that she has to go through this again...and I can symapthize there...but what is the choice? She says the shots in the belly were not as bad as she thought...as those of us on the " other side " were saying...it sort of is the least of your worries at the point that they show up with that shot. Pain control sounds like it is on target...she can tell that the sciatic pain is gone and she is feeling the pain from the surgery itself...so far so good! If I think of anything else I will let you know. Cam
