Yes, could be blood but I don't necessarily agree and hate to see anyone jump to

this conclusion. Digestion of certain foods also creates dark stools. Write to

me privately if you want more info.

Subject: Dark black poop

Hi Mindy,

Dark black stool is a sign of upper GI bleeding:

Dr Koop.com:

http://www.drkoop.com/conditions/ency/article/003130.htm

" Considerations:

Blood, as seen in the stool, can originate anywhere

along the intestinal tract. A black stool usually

means that the blood is coming from the upper part of

the tract. At least 2 Tablespoons (or 60 milliliters)

of blood must have been lost in order to make the

stool black. Maroon-colored stools suggest that the

blood is coming from the middle portion of the

intestinal tract, and bright red from the large bowel

or rectum. See also GI bleeding . "

" The ingestion of black licorice, lead, Pepto-Bismol,

or blueberries can all cause black stools or false

melena. Stools should be tested for the presence of

hidden blood. "

brilliant is knowing which half to believe. "

You will pass black poop too during a cleanse, eventually.

It is a sign of very old undigested stool. This is the

stuff that sticks to the colon and forms a tarry plaque.

But it is important to know that black stool can be a sign

of bleeding higher up. It is best to get yourself diagnosed

for no disease.

I passed black stool one week after taking a very good enzyme

product. I put my husband on an enzyme product also. In

one months time he began passing black stool. It lasted only

2 days.
