Thanks to you for taking the extra time to go that extra mile for two human beings in need. It is a story not heard all that often today. Bonnie [ ] Carla Kay's surgery Dear Group,I'm leaving today to go up to Denver to meet up with Carla before her surgery Monday. She has had a busy week traveling from West Virginia on Wednesday, Appointment with Kumar thursday and an MRI. Yesterday she just stayed at her hotel and rested, and today Lee, Dr. Kumar's assistant is taking her out sightseeing for the day. She and I are having a BBQ at my daughter's house tomorrow, an easy day, so she can get back to her hotel early to get a good night's rest before surgery. I'm picking her up and taking her to the hospital Monday morning along with her young daughter. Lee and I are taking care of her daughter Angel, since she doesn't have anyone here or at home to care for her. I will come home tuesday morning, since I still have a family to care for, and I live a good distance from Denver. I'll go back up Friday, and depending on how she does, she'll either go back to her hotel Monday or to Rehab.It will be weird for me to be the one waiting at the hospital while someone has surgery, I'm more used to being the one being cut on. I have a huge book to read, Bill Clinton's auto biography, I'm only three chapters in and it's huge, he's remembers more about junior high and writes about it, than any of us do. I'm expecting she'll be in surgery at least ten hours. Guest guest Posted June 10, 2006 Report Share Posted June 10, 2006 --- All, I have been off the board for a few days....son graduated high school and daughter had her step up ceremony from 8th grade....hosted 20 girls for a sleep over, 35 girls and coach for a lacrosse swim/cookout and today have 50, 18 year olds for a swim/ graduation party!!I am exhausted!!!!I did go back on the tramadol..I had too, I just could not do what had to be done with out it....this is a crazy time of year for me..and my husband is going back to CHina next week until right before the 4th of July!! Yikes..talk about needing to have a speedy recovery..thank goodness all went well for me...I'd be in a real bad way if it had not!!!! SUsan, Is there anything I can do to help Carla Kay? I know I can't come to Denver but I would be willing to send some money for expenses? I think what you are doing is so incredible....is there anything I can do??Even a gift card to a grocery store or some place so when she gets out of the hospital she can get things she needs?
