Guest guest
Nan! Hellllloooooo girlfriend! So glad to hear you are making good progress. And you are out and sitting up to type....you will be home before you know it. Martha has kept us up to date on all your travails but hopefully you will fill us in a little when you get settled at home. That is great news that you might be home for Mothers Day. I had never heard of the surgery related halucinations before I joined this flatback world...and it seems like it is not uncommon. I thought someone said that it has to do with the anaesthetic they use for long, long surgery...but I could be wrong. Maybe it is a combinations of things...whatever it is...it doesn't sound like fun. I am glad you are okay on the percocet. I was released with just percocet/tylenol in the Endocet formulation and did fine...so I hope you are as lucky. I won't keep you sitting up reading, but welcome to the " other side " ! Take Care, Cam
Guest guest
Hi... I think hallucinations are very common with morphine. After my scoliosis surgery, I hallucinated that every surface in the room was covered with about an inch of dust. That wasn't horrible. The other one was unbearable... I hallucinated Tony Orlando & Dawn music playing day and night. I wanted to slit my wrists! -- > > Nan! > > Hellllloooooo girlfriend! So glad to hear you are making good > progress. Guest guest
Dear , Back in the seventies my Dad lost his job, was very depressed and played Tony Orlando and Dawn on the record player over and over. I can't listen to it to this day. I can't imagine having hallucinations to it, but you have my full sympathy. I hadn't remembered that in years, till it came on the radio as I was driving my son to school this morning, funny what we remember from our childhoods! [ ] Re: I'm BACK! Yeah! Hi... Guest guest
To get you past Tony Orlando, check this out. Currently 65 versions of " Stairway to Heaven " . Some are pretty good. http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2006/05/stairways_to_he.html > > Hi... > > I think hallucinations are very common with morphine. Guest guest
thanks for the great laugh, . It was a good one. I also hallucinated some extremely vivid hallucinations after my original surgery. They were so vivid that I have no problem remembering them 33 years later. Some of the times I " came to " I was very embarrassed to find my mom in the room because I thought I had been having sex with my boyfriend. I remember watching one bizarre video of little furry creatures reproducing -- and as the guys came in to turn me, the video went from one wall, across the ceiling, and to the other wall. It was pretty cool. But one of the most embarrassing things was when the new preacher at our church came for a visit. He came in shortly after I had been enjoying some hallucinations and asked how I was feeling. I said, " I feel great. I am really f***ed up! Have you ever done any drugs? They are really pretty cool -- I have been watching movies on the wall! " He got a horrified look on his face and left quickly. A few minutes later, my doctor walked in, laughing and saying, " no more morphine for you! " > > > > Nan! > > > > Hellllloooooo girlfriend! So glad to hear you are making good > > progress.
