Guest guest
Hello folks, Since I'll soon be moving to Michigan, from Texas, I will be looking for a good doctor up there. You know what I mean, someone who actually knows what hypothyroidism is, LOL, and knows what to do about it. I'll be in the Charlevoix/Petoskey area. I'd be willing to travel quite a distance. I seem to remember having asked this group before, and somebody gave me the name of a Dr. Brownstein. I can't find any information on him. I look in www.whitepages.com, and he isn't there. Surely a doctor must have a phone...? So did I misspell his name? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Guest guest
Brownstein is quite famous, written several books, so you can google his name or find him at http://www.geocities.com/thyroide He is a Broda type doc. Guest guest
Gracia, thank you, I went to his web site, www.drbrownstein.com, and sure, he IS very famous. I wonder if he has time to see patients if he is so busy writing books and giving seminars and going on lecture tours. I know that area of Michigan, Bloomfield Hills, it's VERY upscale. And he's " only " some 300 miles from where I'm moving to. He may be somewhat like that Dr. Hotze in Katy, Texas, (I went there once, 700 miles from here), where it costs about $3,000 to be " evaluated " and get prescriptions. And insurance wouldn't cover it. Well, what is your health worth? Of course. I think for now I'll just order Dr. Brownstein's video, and a couple of books, and " save " myself a couple of grand. If the video is any good, (I'm sure it is), I'll insist that any doctor I ever see from now on will have to view this video. Thanks for telling me about this. Re: A good doctor in Michigan? Guest guest
Hello again, Gracia, I went back to Shomon's list of super docs, and found a long list of them in Michigan, many of them much closer to my area, (than Dr. Brownstein), so I feel good about that. Thanks again for pointing the way. Re: A good doctor in Michigan?
