Hi Janelle,

welcome to the group! I'm also from the Seattle area (Kirkland), and have

had a rough time of it the past two weeks, or I'd of welcomed you sooner.

Drop me a line and tell me about yourself!

Lori,

There seems to be quite a few Seattle-vicinity members in this group. We

lived in Seattle and Mukilteo for 17 years, moved to the Bay Area, then to

Europe, then back to Seattle in late 1993, settling first in Everett then

spent the last year in Ballard. When my husband had a two surgeries and a

heart attack and I had two surgeries all within a 2 year period, we decided

that we'd better move someplace where the cost of living was lower. Now

we're in Las Vegas, have a house we love, and I think we made the right

move (for us.)

I was diagnosed with AIH after we moved here and unfortunately, there are

limited medical resources in Nevada, so my primary AIH care is done through

Scripps in LaJolla, California. I just found out today from my insurance

company that they don't approve any liver transplant facilities in Oregon

or Washington. They do approve three in California (UCSF, Cedars-Sinai

and Green Hospital at Scripps), Baylor in Texas or University Hospital in

Denver. If I want a second opinion, which may happen someday, I have to go

to one of them (or any one of several others, but all farther away from

Nevada than the above). I have no idea whether the fact that they don't

approve any facility in Washington or Oregon is based on medical factors or

financial, but they do require a very high success ratio. Just wanted to

comment on this because I've worried since diagnosis that I might have

found better medical care in Seattle. There are some excellent doctors

there, but I've never really had to test their expertise.

Take care,

Geri

It is with much interest that I introduce Janelle , editorial

assistant for the www.immunization.org website who

joins our list.

This website is funded in part by the CDC, who

also reviews all the

medical and technical information on the site.

Some of the advisors

listed are familiar names: Neal A. Halsey, MD,

L. Katz, MD,

A. Offit, MD and Walter A. Orenstein, MD.

There are others, but I

think you catch the drift. I am confident we will

extend to her a

courteous welcome as we have to all list

members.

I believe the correct website is www.immunize.org. Just don't want

anyone else to think that they are going crazy when it doen't come

up :-).

Welcome, Ms. . Hopefully, you can bring back some of our

information and stories to those with whom you work.

I find you courageous and that in itself is a good sign.

FWIW - I put a link up to their site on www.evidenceofharm.com in my

" resources " section, about 2 months ago (as well as CDC, FDA, AAD, IOM

etc).

I think it is very important for everyone to read what people are saying

on all sides of this controversy.

Telling just one side of a dispute is like witnessing a head-on

collision -- and trying to interview only one of the drivers.

And if he witnessed it, there's no need for any interviews.

>>I 'm so overwhlemed at all the diferent things i can take and more than abit

confused at all the different herbs and vitamins dont really want to od on them

lol.<<

===Take a deep breath.. No need to feel overwhelmed , even though all of us go

through that feeling! Take a few deep breaths and start back at the beginning.

TAKE BABY STEPS! READ EVERYTHING in Bee's files!!

I have been on the plan a month and don't take the extra vitamins YET! I did

at first but found I was given the wrong ones so I just put them aside and will

take them up next month. I am doing just fine without them for now!

>>Have also just been diganosed with allergies to grass, animals and dust which

my doc seems to think is causing alot of my pain. Has anyone else got a simliar

story that they could share with me feeling rather hopless at the moment, hoping

there is a light at the end of the tunnel and i can go back to my normal

life, and not be in pain 24/7, in alot of pain and discomfort through itiching

and tenderness.<<

==== The allergies are a side symptom from Candida, It should go away as you

get rid of the Candida. Most of us have been there and can sympathies with what

you are going through YES there is a light at the end of the tunnel.. Stick with

it and let us know how different you feel in a month!! I pretty much guarentee

you will feel much different. Regular reports help keep everyone motivated and

actually help out the newbies to the list!

>>Anyway that's my story sorry to have babble on and bored

you all to death :)<<

===I am not bored and don't think you babbled.. We have to start somewhere..

Take a deep breath and start getting healthy!!

Find a way to make someone SMILE today!
