Guest guest
a couple of thoughts for people wanting to gain weight: -extra virgin olive oil -avocadoes add more of each to your diet. yes, avos have some carbs, but not enough to cause any severe candida problems. coconut oil causes many folks to lose weight, butter and animal fats keep it pretty stable, olive oil helps people gain weight. make olive oil salad dressings, use it in your homemade mayo, drizzle it over your meats and veggies... make guacamole, blend olive oil in, and use it as a sauce for poached chicken breast or as a dip for raw or lightly steamed veggies. give it a try. let us know how you do! ~ suz
Guest guest
My anti-candida diet has also caused me to lose weight even though I eat lots of avocado and olive oil. I believe the lack of significant quanities of carbohydrates is responsible. I would be grateful if somebody would share information on how they maintain a healthy weight. My ideal weight and goal is 145 pounds(5'7 " ) but I weigh 136 pounds. --------------------------------- Messenger with Voice. Make PC-to-Phone Calls to the US (and 30+ countries) for 2¢/min or less. When this is over, I'll be needing a whole new wardrobe! Hope I'll have some money left to buy it! Beth ) Re: [ ] Re: foods to help gain weight Hi , I hear you. Guest guest
I've lost 102 pounds, and half the oil I eat is olive, nearly a half cup a day, so I wouldn't say olive oil keeps someone from losing weight at all. If I were to suggest one thing that would help someone gain weight on this program it would be eat more protein! I doubled my weekly weight loss rate just by decreasing my protein from 200-250 grams per day to 150-155 grams a day. I would increase protein and also fats, and the last thing I would increase is carbs. The extra protein will help you increase muscle mass, and the extra fat is very dense in calories, but extra carbs are more likely to feed the candida. Guest guest
Sue, I look good, clothes are baggy (my mom keeps saying you need room to sit:o). My sister is 5'2 " , 103 lbs. usually is 95 lbs. which is too thin. She'd look better around 115 lbs. I'm going to see my gyne this week so I'm going to mention the weight loss to her, but my nutritionist doesn't seem concerned. She's thin too. If you're concerned about it, maybe you should ask your doctor. Beth Re: [ ] Re: foods to help gain weight Hi , I hear you. You do know that when you are trying to cure candida, or any body problem, that weight is the least of your concerns, and it should not be the focus. Concentrate on getting well and your weight will normalize. Bee
Guest guest
Sue, at one point during my candida cure in the mid 1980s I was losing 3 lbs a day! But after it was cured my weight normalized to 135 lbs. Bee P.S. Sue, please trim your messages - see Candida Group Info folder on why and how.
