Becca - YES YES anxiety attacks are a part of the candida toxicity! Mine

have almost completely gone away now - and THAT is exciting to me!

Anxiety related to Candida?

LIsa - anxiety is related to this? Has yours gone a way? I was up

all night last night with panic attacks (I have panic disorder) and

all this nervous energy. I feel like I am going to die or something

(you know how it is with anxiety / panic). Is this part of my die-

off that I am experiencing? I am going to cut my doses way down till

the anxiety goes away...and the insomnia. I just hate this!

Oh yes, anxiety and depression are the number one symptoms experienced

by women with candida. This has lead to many women being misdiagnosed

and pumped full of drugs.

during the first 2 weeks of my candida diet the anxiety was awful.

I felt like I was on a roller coaster.

It was hell.

Now I am feeling stronger after only 2 months of anti candida eating

and herbs. I have emergency Xanax if I am ever on the road and am

desperate. I dumped the Buspar because I don't feel the need for a

daily fix against anxiety any longer.

Your panic disorder will go away if you kill the candida. I know its

hard in the beginning. The candida give off toxins that screw up our

brain chemicals. Die off is even worse. Get over the initial trauma

of anti-candida living and you will be calmer, I promise.

Becca, I have panic attacks also. Right now they are under

control. But I adhere like glue to my antidepressants until

they are fully eliminated. You can have panics with low

thyroid or adrenal gland malfunction. You can have much

anxiety with hormonal imbalance. I never experienced panic

attack with die-off. Usually you can get an attack after

eating sugar/carbs and the yeast is flourishing in your system.

That has been my experience.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that low blood sugar

will give you true panics also. I would get them

in the evening, waking up at night because my blood

sugar was too low. Had to eat something.

Well, I am up again tonight. Thankfully I was able to sleep last

night. This anxiety / panic is absolutely terrible. I keep praying

and praying. I am shaking all over. It is hard to type. I just

want to quit taking my meds for right now until this calms down. I

jsut can't function - not even on the lowest doses. Panic attacks

are my number one worst fear in the world. They scare me terribly.

I took my xanax today - only .25mg...it was the first time I have

taken anything for the panic in over 6 months. I just couldn't take

it anymore. And I almost went to the emergency room for it this

morning - it was that bad. I took .25mg tonight to get to sleep - it

didn't work. I took .25 mg more. It isn't helping. I need to get

sleep in order to function at work. I also have two small children,

ages 9 and 2. I can't function like this. You said it took you 2

weeks of hell? I just can't do this for 2 weeks. I just can't. It

is so awful for me. And after two MONTHS you are finally feeling

stronger? Should I take my Xanax that long? I jsut hate taking it -

it is so addicitive and I am SO against medication for this. I don't

know what to do. I feel like crying but don't want to freak my

system out anymore. I took a colon cleanse formula this morning

because I was stopped up (only one movement a day) and I don't know

if it has made things worse. I am a wreck though - an absolute

wreck. Will taking the Xanax set me back at all? I feel like maybe

getting some anti-depressant to control the panic / anxiety and then

starting this whole thing over again once it sets in...in four weeks

or so. I will continue on my candida diet though - no sense giving

that up. Oh - this is nightmare-ish. Why does die off have to

produce this with me. It is my worst fear. Panic / anxiety is SO

scary for me...I feel like I am going to die...seriously...when I get

attacks. UGH!!!!

Becca, a nervous wreck - literally.

Thank you for the information Liz D.

I just had my thyroid checked at the doctor so it's not that. I

wonder about the adrenal gland though. I don't think that is a

standard bloodtest.

Becca - i had that too - and it literally scared me silly. First I would

get the 'hot fingers' going up my back and into my neck - HOT... hot,,,

hot... and then my heart would be racing... and i'd have this feeling like I

had to " pace " ... and would just 'walk' the house - and sit outside in very

cold nighttime weather to cool down... boy was it scarey. I too prayed and

cried everytime it happened. I took to sitting out in the family room

because I didn't want to go to bed.

One of the key things in my case was my diet... i just could NOT have any

sugar or junk AT ALL - high carbs also could set me off... It got down to 4

things that I could eat.

For me the antidepressants did not " touch " the panic attack at all - they

were next to useless.

One of the reasons I use the whole approach method of the bentonite

liquid/psyllium husk/seed, and the rotating anti-fungal is that the die-off

is adsorbed a lot by the bentonite liquid. Since I've been on this method I

have not experienced another time like that.

I *truly* know how you feel - without a doubt - and I care deeply for you -

and with little children it makes it harder. What *exactly* are your

candida products right now and what is your diet?

Becca,

There is a test that can be done for testing the adrenal glands- I had one done on my two year old son a couple of months ago. Ask your doc. about it.

God Bless,

Taiaroa.

Becca, Some people have an anxiety disorder, it may not

be connected with candida. However it makes everything more

confusing than it already is.

Do you have any family history of mental illness? I do, but

my family members only have depressions not anxiety. So go

figure? Just wanted you to take another look.

excellent info Kornbelt

I have found that as I progressed in my treatment of candida over time -

with diet, supplements, candida purge, probiotics and food enzymes that my

leaky gut has been almost cured completely over the last 6 months or so. If

a person CANNOT find a doc (which is probably the case) and you RESEARCH -

and APPLY what you learn you CAN heal a leaky gut without a doc - it " is "

possible.

But great info.... Jonah has often posted this site for candida info - and

they have good stuff on the leaky gut:

Re: Anxiety related to Candida?

If die-off is too difficult for you, by all means, slow down the anti-

fungals. Moreover, you probably have leaky gut as well (anyone with a

serious candida problem undoubtably does), and this requires that you

discover what your food sensitivities are and stay away from them,

and take further measures to heal your intestines. (I would look into

Candex as well. About $20 a bottle.)

This business is tough. Too much too fast will tax your already

overtaxed liver and pancreas (basically your whole endochrine system)

more than you should do. I've stuggled with panic and anxiety as

well. I suggest a cave man diet, chicken and vegatables only, esp

greens such as cruiferious veggies (broccoli, cauliflower) and raw

spinach salads (no vinegar.) Moreover, if you have not done so, get a

lactulose/mannitol test done. This is tell you if you have leaky gut.

If you do, killing off the candida is only the first step. There is

no very good test for candida (trials using antifungals the best way-

if you take anti fungals and get die-off, then you have it, esp if

you try various kind of anti-fungals to rule out a non-yeast

sensitivity to a particular one.) But there IS a 100% accurate test

for leaky gut. (Nobody knows whether candida causes leaky gut or vice

versa. For example, It is known that many things can cause leaky gut,

including NSAIDS such as Tylenol and alcohol abuse, and other drugs.

Once you have leaky gut, candida is free to flourish.) If you have

leaky gut, you will not get over it unless you deal with it parallel

with the candida problem. And your candida will keep coming back

again and again. My guess, from what I've researched, is that your

panic and anxiety is a problem due to leaky gut more than candida.

While candida does indeed cause toxins such as acetyaldehyde and

ammonia to travel around the system, leaky gut pretty much screws up

the entire endochrine system, because of suppression of pancreatic

enzymes, and hepatic function of the P450 enzymes. It taxes the

seroronin resources (which can cause the panic attacks.)

Anyone who has, or thinks they have, candida should do two, bare

minimum. Get a lactulose/mannitol test done. And get checked for H

Pylori infection, which can cause digestive problems leading to the

chain of effects, and ultimate the vicious cycle. In the meantime,

HCL and pancreatic enzymes supplementation are a must.

Get a copy of this MD's book called Power Healing.

http://www.mdheal.org/books.htm

And by all means, find an MD in your area that knows about candida

and leaky gut, and that will help you.

Keep the faith.

Yes, this is true, because the candida diet is just about the same as

the leaky gut diet. (In both you need to isolate and elimiate

allergenic substances. With candida, simple sugars must be

eliminatedd.) The only difference is that if one has leaky gut, high

doses of antioxidents is a bad idea, except for glutathione and alpha

lipoic acid.
