Guest guest
, Have you, your wife and your son ever taken Ketek & Amox abx combination? If so, can you, please, eloborate? How long have you been treated with abx? It is indeed good news that you are feeling well now!!! Best of luck to the rest of your family. Thanks for your reply. Stay well! -- Lida > > > > Can someone please explain " herxing? " Thanks. Judy > > > > > >
Guest guest
Lida, I was on doxy for 2.5 months and then ceftin for the past 10 months. My wife was on ceftin and my son amoxicillin (that's what they give infants). We take a multi-vitamin, probotics and drink plenty of water. We are all doing much better, thank God. This time a year and a half ago it was very tough for me, I was being rushed to the emergency room with severe chest pains and that was just the beginning of the nightmare my family has endured! I had to be given nitro-glycerin a couple of times and ended up in the er 3 times. They couldn't figure it out. I was tested for Lung Cancer, many Chest X-Rays, GERD, Ulcers, Hernias, MS, Stress Tests, 24 hour Heart Monitors, Pulmonary Embolism, Orthopedic and finally my PCP suggested the old Psychological route. I didn't know where to turn and all of this uncertainty was causing sever panic and anxiety attacks. Luckily my wife came to with me on a PCP visit and suggested testing for Lyme, her mother had had it and she is a Nurse. Her suggestion turned out to be a life saver. My doctor took blood for a Western Blot test and LUCKILY it came back positive with 8 or 9 bands positive. My PCP put me on Amoxicillin which I later found out is what they give babies with Lyme. Then I found out through this board that I had to get to the best LLMD that I could find. I brought my list of symptoms to my LLMD and she went through each one of them with me. She took blood for Lyme and Co-infection testing (PCR/DNA) and she immediately diagnosed Lyme based on my symptoms and started me on doxy. The tests came back again positive for Lyme with a large Lyme load and negative for Co-infections. My LLMD tests for this every six weeks as well as monitors how the abx are affecting my system through blood tests. I learned to judge my progress every three months and if I wasn't seeing any progress I would discuss it in detail with my doctor. She would adjust the treatment appropriately. She convinced me to stop living every minute of my life stressing over Lyme and got me to put my head back into my normal life. Over the past year I have progressed steadily and haven't missed a day of work because of Lyme since starting her abx treatment. In June of last year we found out that my son and wife also had Lyme. I believe we all got it from the last place that we lived. I owned a Condo and we have two dogs that used to walk where there are deer. A lady in that complex told me someone else had gotten Lyme but at the time I didn't know how severe it could be so I continued to walk my dog where the deer were. If you went out early to your car you typically would see between 5 - 10 deer right outside our door. Scared the * & ^* out of me some mornings because they can get very BIG. The lady I bought the Condo from had severe health problems and my next door neighbor put on a lot of weight and started having severe chest pains (he had a dog as well) and " weird symptoms " . I learned that I had Lyme a year after we moved out of the Condo and bought my current house. I remember having mysterious symptoms for about 4 years prior to that. So I believe that is where I contracted it. We often saw ticks on our dogs at the Condo. I have never seen a tick on either of my dogs in my new house. I believe that my wife and I had it for a couple of years but it was only minor. I believe that my wife gave it to my son in- vetro. We are lucky because we found these great doctors to help us recover. This is why I plead with you to help Dr. and any LLMD that is under attack! We must protect the doctors that have dedicated themselves to helping us recover! We must stand with him! Please give as generously as you are able. Guest guest
, Thank you for sharing your story. It is most encouraging to hear that there is a happy end to this misery. I have also osteoporosis, perhaps that is why I was put on Amox as it has no cotra-indication with Ca & Mg absorbtion. Sorry to hear your physician has been sued. My LLMD in Va also had a case filed against her but it was dismissed. My ID MD said that LLMD's have an industry of their own out there. Hope your family continues to heal.
