Guest guest
I am on Zithromax 600 and I am supposed to add Doxie plus I use Fluconazol (Diflucan). I have added the Doxie a few times and I get a bad stomach ache. But it also seems to do something good to my bronchial tubes. Like possibly there is infection there that the Zithromax is not reaching. However I believe the Doxie was prescribed for Babesia for which lab work has come back as negative. However, absence of proof is not proof of absence. This is why I have not added or felt compelled to add the Doxie. I guess at this point the response is call your Doctor. Right. This is the highest dose of Zithro I have ever taken. It has always been Rx'd for when I wanted to do a lab test and mega dose on Abx to get the Lyme aggravated. Tomorrow. First thing. Dosage Increasingly, clinicians recommend that certain drugs used for Lyme disease be given at higher daily doses: for example, 3,000–6,000 mg of amoxicillin, 300–400 mg doxycycline, and 500–600 mg of azithromycin. Some clinicians prescribe antibiotics using blood levels to guide higher doses. Close monitoring of complete blood counts and chemistries are also required with this approach. With higher doses, there may be an increase in adverse events in general and gastrointestinal problems in particular. Acidophilus has reportedly reduced the incidence of Clostridium difficile colitis and non-C. difficile antibiotic-related diarrhea.

I have added the Doxie a few times and I get a bad stomach ache. Millie, Doxy is not for Babesia. Doxy treats some strains of Lyme and is also prescribed for Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever and Erhlichia. Curious about you Zithromax dosing. Are you taking it every day or every other day? I want to ask my new dr to put me back on it, but I want to know what dosage other drs are giving Lymies. My old LLMD had me on 500 mgs every other day. I assume that is because Zithro has a long half-life. > But it also seems to do something good to my bronchial tubes. Guest guest
It is daily. I had to go look at the bottle. He could have told me to take while standing on my head everyother day. I have been so stressed out. I've asked about that before because it has that long life I was wondering if I could be herxing just about all the time which is how I have felt ever since I've been on this dose. Three months now. It is miserable having my LLMD so far away. I added the full 300mg Doxie. Although I hear about some of the meds some folks are on and I feel like a whimp. Guest guest
millie the spect scan is very useful in lyme disease in that it shows brain metabolism and function...I have had three and also pet and I am fine.....it will also put the diagnosis to bed... eric eric Millie <millie_miller@...> wrote: OK. I am taking it now anyway. I have a Rx to have a Spec Scan but I had an MRI and the two Dr's local both could not get to their phone fast enough to tell me You don't have Lyme disease. It was on my cell phone a message from each one. You don't have Lyme Disease. You Don't have Lyme Disease. I felt like the school bullies were calling me names. That could not be Lyme paranoia. I didn't think so. I know from the E-mails on this site MRI's don't mean much for diagnoses of Lyme. My LLMD told me to do it just because he said it would be fun. It did show I have a clot in a area where it would not mean anything unless I had Migraine headaches and Panic Attacks. Bingo nail right on the head. Migraines and Panic attacks. Needless to say I haven't been in a hurry to get the Specter Scan. Am I wrong. Learning more everyday. Millie
Guest guest
Millie Don't feel like a wimp- each of us are different with different genetics, different spiro loads, different co infections and loads and different stressors and above all different places where the lyme and company has decided to call home. We all learn from each other and have to support each other, most folks don't have a clue and even if they're open to it many don't even realize supplements and etc are good things either. I know until last year I didn't have a clue. It's an eye opener, but I know it exists. I know supplements/meds etc are helping, so I have to just keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep learning. Take care Rose Marie > > It is daily. I had to go look at the bottle. Guest guest
I am sorry but I Am a major linguist and the words put it to bed just shook me. So What do you mean you took the test and you are fine. I am not afraid of the test. I just don't need to be proving anything especially to Dr. H. he doesn't doubt my Illness at all. The thing that troubled me about the magazine is, if I got it, they, the magazine article claimed Lyme caused mental illness. The very thing I and Dr and Dr H. are all fighting, the fact that it is not just in our heads. Sorry for the confusion. Guest guest
millie I meant that the spect would show neurological involvment and also the degree...the pet would show if it had damaged the cells of the brain...from what I understand alot of the pets that were done were clear and that meant that is was reversable ....the cells were just sick....now my spect was the worst you could get as per dr b but the pet shows perfect in it uptake...the cells are ok I did not mean to make it look like you needed to prove that you had lyme as we all know that you have it and I just wanted you to know that it is a very accurate test...that is what the guys at columbia told me... eric Millie <millie_miller@...> wrote: I am sorry but I Am a major linguist and the words put it to bed just shook me. Guest guest
Columbia, were you Involved in that study Fallon did using Rocephin? I might have gone except I was not able to go that far West Coast to East Coast and too sick. Reversible is a word I like. Because I truly know that I have reversed the damage done to my brain. It is just a gut feeling. I just don't have the severe symptoms. You know how that is. Right now I am using a whole lot of Abx and I always get very hopeful I have been cured. It hasn't happened yet but I keep the faith. I forgot to watch the Today show yesterday.
