Guest guest
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/7084088/Simple-blood-test-could-help-predict-rheumatoid-arthritis-years-before-symptoms-appear.html "Scientists have found higher levels of certain proteins, part of a group called cytokines and secreted by immune system cells, in the blood several years before patient’s symptoms develop. These proteins are known to be heightened when patients suffer from the full-blown disease and treatments which tackle them have been effective, but scientists said that it was significant that there were raised years before patients developed any pain."My understanding of cytokines is that they are the "messengers" between the different cells and levels of the immune system. If there are more (or too many) of a certain type of cytokine that means the immune system is awry. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this test became routine and anyone showing positive were immediately offered LDN.
