Guest guest
Hello, My family has been on SCD for almost 2 years and we just got back some test results from Genova labs. We did a blood test on our oldest and it shows mercury - .0079, with a ref range of .0039 mcg/g. I'm more than a little freaked out here. We have always been careful about limiting our kids' exposure to toxins. But, we have well water, our food is not 100% organic and our son is a pica kid. Chews everything. Legos, erasers, rubber car wheels, paper, electrical wires. We're obviously getting the well water tested (from a real lab, not the Lowe's test kit we used when we built the house!) We're going to do 24 hr urine collection and test both boys that way next. Our DAN is suggesting that we try to stop the current exposure and deal with their yeast/bacteria overgrowth before we do anything about the mercury. I've read other places that chelation won't work if the gut is a mess, so I guess this makes sense. I'm hoping this group will have some additional suggestions for us.
