Guest guest
I don't remember being bite by a tick, but had symptoms after having sand mites or flies crawl over my feet in Mexico. Now I have symptoms like my mom had, she was in the Pacific during World War 2 and also in Mexico after that. But her symptoms started before Mexico. She was only treated for symptoms and not with antibiotics, she was unable to care for us kids due to her illness. I test positive for lymes bartonella and babesia. My grown daughter also tests positive for babesia. She has had symptoms since a child. She would improve as a child on a yeast free diet and nystatin and shots for candida. We believe that we have had this from transmission from the placenta. We both have herx with the antibiotics, but see a drastic improvement on the antibiotics where we can function. Her children who are young are showing symptoms. I think on tests that there are a lot more false negatives than false positives. If your tests show positive, than I would think that you probably are. I believe that antibiotics are the start, but not the total answer to a cure. Sometimes we just suppress the bugs so that we can have a full life. I'd rather take the antibiotics than feel disabled and not be able to work. I am now working 4 days a week. Before I could only lay in bed. I do find the herbs helpful. And yes I believe you need to build the immune system back up. Our bodies can help fight this if it is in perfect condition. I think that us with lymes have some defect in our immune system and this they will find years later with DNA markers. I want to keep learning everything I can. Not only has it affected me, but also my children and grandchildren. I am grateful for all the people helping and doing research. I have been struggling with depression for about 6 years.. a year ago I began experiencing weakness in my arms and legs..that seems to be aggravated by B vitamins...the weakness came on after I took megadoses of B vitamins (for the depression) that my LLMD approved. Though I really have no other symptoms...other than muscle weakness and depression...he is now recommending a long course of antibiotics to treat lyme/babesia! I have had little exposure to ticks in the last 20 years ...though I was attacked by them during one military summer in Ft. Bragg NC in 1983...I understand that very small percentage of ticks are infected and that infection does not always result when bitten...anyone have any thoughts? It seems crazy to begin an antibiotic regimen with so little evidence of infection...i hope you all are finding your way to health. __________________________________________________
