Guest guest
CC, When I researched this, I didn't find a lot of info. My doctor who is not a Lyme doctor, didn't think much of it. Since he didn't know a lot about it, he asked his colleagues (who I don't think were Lyme experts) and they didn't know how to use any info it would provide. And neither do I. I would suggest before you get the test, be sure you know how to interpret the results so it will be of use to you. And then, if you do get it, I'd be interested to know the results and what they tell you. best, ellen > > > > Just curious - have you done a CD-57? > > > > D. > > > > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
The test was developed by Dr. Raphael Stricker. He was studying the immune systems of AIDS patients, and he thought it would be useful to compare with patients with other chronic illnesses. The Chronic Lyme Disease patients were all very low. The HIV and other patients were not. Normal values, for the test, are set at 60 to 360. Healthy people tend to be above 180, with most above 200. Untreated chronic Lyme patients are below 60. Mine started in the teens, but at last check, it was just over 50. Ending treatment while it is still low is likely to lead to relapse. It is a very useful test. Last time I checked it cost about $140, and it's very easy to interpret. My insurance covered mine. And, since this *is* , Cat's Claw is supposed to raise the CD-57 count. For more information see page 8 of Dr. Burrascano's Treatment Guidelines. http://www.lymenet.org/drbguide200509.pdf Or see the Public Health Alert. Start with the archives page. http://www.publichealthalert.org/pdf_format.htm Then choose " Issue 2 August 2006. " Then go to page 8. Hope you find it helpful.
