Guest guest
This is my understanding of right brain/left brain dominance: Right brain is considered female, passive, artistic, intuitive, etc. Left brain is considered male, active, logical, analytical, etc. but ... below the neck it crosses and the right side becomes the male characteristics and the left side the female. Guest guest
Well, i used to be republican/conservative, before i got sick. Now i just plain hate most politics (and politicians)in general. However, Lyme has not only affected the right side of my body, instead of the left, but I am left handed. Guest guest
This is strange, but interesting. I'd like to read more. Haven't heard this before. My Lyme effect is my left leg. I always assumed that was where I was bitten. Re: left/right side of brain: Some scientists recently dispute this dichotomy, say it over-simplifies. Supposedly left is the rational, cause and effect part of brain, your acccountant eg, and the right is artistic and spontaneous, kinda like us Geminis. I'm withholding judgement - want to hear more. ellen > > Had seen in earlier string that Lyme's often predominately effect's > one side of the body -- typically the left. > > Just curious if this has anything to do with left/brain right brain > dominance? which side is supposed to be more artistic? what is the > othRe: er side supposed to be like? > > not sure why, but everyone I have met with chronic lyme's has tended > to be artistically inclined -- have yet to meet conservative or > republican with chronic lyme's... must just be a coincindence, right? > please tell me that i am wrong about this -- how could a germ " choose > its victims? Guest guest
Also, have you noticed - (this is true at least for anyone I've met) that left-handeds tend to be good in math? ....now, I supposed some left-handeda are going to prove me wrong. (smile). Come to think of it, I'm good at math and I'm a rightie. As for right side left side,...it`s got me ALL over ! Left shoulder, right leg, hand, toe,...overall everywhere though. And I`m NOT artisticly inclined...my daughter is ...does that count ? Oh, she`s got lyme too...so she would fit that profile...but she`s a conservative...go figure???? : ) in WV joyce la fleur <loveandlight1111@...> wrote: You go Sam. Lol.Liberal. Right on. I must say as of late I totally agree with . I am totally fed up with all the political BS and dont even wanna hear another add or even watch nightly news. Seems they are all the same with the constant bickering back and forth and in reality its just one big high falluting kickback/payback club. I call em republicrats - they all in it for themselves. Maybe the ketes figured out I was leaning towards being A-political or maybe even ohhhh my gosh Libertarian :-) Sam Oh btw I hear a lot of herbs on protocol being slightly constipating but in my brief experience it has had the opposite effect but I do take 15g of S/C per day. Guest guest
Hello again fellow lymie's -- thank you for your responses .... not sure if the left side/right side question was realistic, maybe it is just that I have been struggling with trying to figure out " how to navigate " through how everything in my world has changed! I know that it must sound horrible, but sometimes it really feels good to know that I am not alone! Not that I would want anyone else to feel bad. I am really deeply moved and terribly sorry for the other people who share their lyme experiences -- but somehow to know other people that are struggling too, lets me know that I am not just crazy. truthfully sometimes I do have to wonder how can I seem fine one day, and then barely able to function an instant later! my problems are mostly with fatigue, confusion and other brain/neurological stuff. i am not sure if i am fortunate to " not look sick " , because nobody else seems to understand why i should feel sick!... oddly enough, sometimes with all of the supplements that i am taking my hair, skin and nails have never looked better -- next, if i only had a brain! > > Had seen in earlier string that Lyme's often predominately effect's > one side of the body -- typically the left. > > Just curious if this has anything to do with left/brain right brain > dominance? which side is supposed to be more artistic? what is the > other side supposed to be like? > > not sure why, but everyone I have met with chronic lyme's has tended > to be artistically inclined -- have yet to meet conservative or republican with chronic lyme's... must just be a coincindence, right? > please tell me that i am wrong about this -- how could a germ " choose its victims? Guest guest
When my symptoms became severe the muscles on the left side of my body became weak, and I began to have a headache on the left side/top of my head that never went away. It felt like the blade of an axe was stuck in it. When I told a friend who was a nurse she said it sounded like I'd had a stroke. Even though I was only about 19 and a stroke didn't sound like something a teenager would have I was glad at least that somebody thought my symptoms sounded serious! No doctor would even give me so much as a pill for my terrible headache. And I did suddenly have severe memory problems and more trouble speaking/finding words, as if I'd had a stroke. Over the years the head pain's shifted more to the right, though it's an entirely different kind of pain. More in the center, and dull. I feel it was induced, though. I had so much trouble trying to read the way my left eye wouldn't track, or move around on me, that I trained myself to read primarily with my right eye. Now I've got a permanent headache from the muscle strain, I guess. Pfft. It's confused me though that it felt like the left side of my brain went somehow blank, became empty of memory (and the left side of my head constantly hurt like the dickens). Yet the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body, which is my stronger side. I'm a liberal, but my lifestyle feels pretty conservative, ha. Don't know what blood type. I grew up playing instruments...piano and violin. I always liked to draw, but never felt I was as good at it as music. in AK > > Had seen in earlier string that Lyme's often predominately effect's > one side of the body -- typically the left. > > Just curious if this has anything to do with left/brain right brain > dominance? which side is supposed to be more artistic? what is the > other side supposed to be like? > > not sure why, but everyone I have met with chronic lyme's has tended > to be artistically inclined -- have yet to meet conservative or > republican with chronic lyme's... must just be a coincindence, right? > please tell me that i am wrong about this -- how could a germ " choose > its victims?
