Guest guest
I think 's suggestion makes sense ( " I would stop everything for a few days and then add them back in SLOWLY to see if you get the same reaction " ). It's probably the safest way to go for the reactions you mentioned. And if/when you retry later, maybe as little as one cap a day of only one herb to start. I've posted a couple of times that the Smilax/Sarsparilla got me to the next level, I think because it's supposedly good at removing endotoxins. For what it's worth, if I had to start again, I think I'd start with Smilax (to get the " cleaner-uppers " on board first). Then I'd go with Resveratrol next. Just me, though. Maybe someone with more experience with sensitivities will have further advice. I'm sorry you've had such a rough start, but glad you found your way here. Today I went up to 2 capsules, and I started getting itchy. Next thing I knew I had some welts on my body, mostly in skin crevices like my elbows, then it got worse and worse. The thing is, I thought the adrographis was helping a little bit, so I'm really upset about not being able to take it, but this reaction is really quite bad. I've thought about the same thing. I think it's a good idea to keep in mind this is pretty new to most, relatively speaking, (and as has been said before, that we're all different). So, relatively speaking, you may be an " old-timer. " (Less seriously,) I started in June. Does that make me a middle-ager or am I still in whippersnapper territory? :-) Either way, I'm a blabbermouth this week (I'll blame it on Lyme - those little sobs have cost me so much, they might as well take some flack, too). Guest guest
Joyce, I'm back online after lunch. Re the PT list, maybe I'm not the only one getting goofy to get through the upcoming holiday (or maybe I was goofy from low blood sugar and needing some food)! In the past I've gotten increasingly depressed and irrritable the closer Christmas got, until I finally had a total blowout (lost my temper, then cried, then felt totally exhausted (is that what people mean by " emotional herx " ?). I know exactly what you mean about not laughing. I have had times I felt like I would never laugh again. I know now I was so sick from Lyme. And I have thought how awful if it had killed me and no one ever knew why. Thank goodness I finally figured out what was ailing me. Same for everyone else on this list. I believe you are absolutely right about laughter being healing. Sometimes it's just hard to figure out what to do to get ourselves to laugh (I sometimes think of some of the scenes Annie Hall that make me laugh). Was it Norman Cousins who watched funny movies when he was ill? Maybe laughter will be the next breakthrough Lyme treatment - we'll all be having tanks of laughing gas delivered to us?. Or maybe Buhner will come up with " funny herbals " (like fuunyboneset tea)? Hang in there people. It can get better (even when it seems like it wont). Guest guest
Hi All: I am trying to decide IF we are ALL new to this site, OR IF most of us are " old timers " to it; since the site is so new in itself. ) I have been on Buhner's Protocols for over a year now. I had a real itching problem on my BACK for several months, producing welts that would harden and break open. I kept on with the maximum protocols, like MORE than 2500 capsules a MONTH. Up to 93 a day. I switched from Andro to Coptis back in July, but didn't allow time for the Andrographis to leave my system, even had a capsule or two of EACH the first day I switched over, and I got into BIG trouble. I was also taking Artemisia annua at the time. I QUIT ALL herbs for a few days. THEN started up SLOWLY, one at a time, till I got better. It took about three weeks or more to start feeling half ways normal again. It really hit me hard. IT was VERY scary. And I mean VERY! NOW, I have been off of Andrographis for about three months, and have been on Coptis that time. When I finish my Coptis, a pound of bulk powder, I will go back to Andrographis. You know, my itching is MUCH BETTER these days. Very little of it. So maybe there IS something to the Andro/itching thing. I will find out for sure when I go back on the Andro. Glad you brought it up. I never thought much about it. Wasn't sure if the itching was from herbs, or Morgellans or something else. Will stay more aware of it in the future WHEN making changes to see IF something starts it up again. By all means stop whatever you are doing IF you have a problem. YES, only one a day for a week is a good place to start on any herb. I had to do it that way in the beginning, since my stomach was in such bad shape BEFORE starting herbs, and got even worse when I took some abx for awhile. C-Salts from nutri.com solved THAT problem though as NO abx or herbs helped it at all. AND YES, Sarsaparilla is much more important to take than any of the other herbs, except for maybe milk thistle and Red Root tincture. Actually, I would not want to be without any of those three. It is SUPER important to CLEANSE our bodies, not only of the Spirochetes, but other bugs and toxins as well. I will probably never go off herbs as long as I live, now that I have seen the many benefits of them. But IF I do go off most of them, THE ONE I plan to keep on taking IS Sarsaparilla. Respectfully, Jim ### Grpinfo@... wrote: I think 's suggestion makes sense ( " I would stop everything for a few days and then add them back in SLOWLY to see if you get the same reaction " ). Guest guest
Hi Ann, I would say that is an emotional herx. I have had many. Especially when I up the herbs. Coffee-enemas have been a life saver for me. Also Smilax and Jernigan neuro-antitox II Basic. Be gentle with yourself. Namaste' Joyce Grpinfo@... wrote: Joyce, I'm back online after lunch.
