Guest guest
Rocephin, Herxing and such, I also had a lot of itching before the antibiotics but on 2 grams Rocephin and 1,000 mgs oral Flagyl I have none. Visited my doctor and he told me some interesting things that during the cycle where the endotoxins from dead spirochetes are entering your blood stream you can get irritation of the lining of the blood vessels known as vasculitis and that causes itching or burning and can also trigger your immune system and itself give you hives. They check your eosinophils to see if you are having a serious allergic reaction to the med then they adjust it up and down and test the response again and make some decisions. Rocehin has reduced my joint pain and that profound fatigue. I also ended up in the hospital from side effects of doxycycline and my pharmacist said it is a very problematic medicine. This was not during Lyme treatent either....it was just 5 days preoperative dose for a hysterectomy. My Lyme literate internist also told me that when you are diabetic and experience die-off your blood sugar raises as it is accomodating glucose from the creatures. He definitely believes that the immune system flares up in everyone who goes through treatment and he is very familiar with all the ins and outs from treating people in Germany. They use magnesium there to combat spasms and cramps too. I take 400mgs some days and 200 mgs extra whenever the spasms demand. I also use 5 mgs of valium if needed when they are really tenacious. Right now I have a flare of vasculitis and intermittant fevers and night sweats and we check my urine and cbc and blood chemistries to determine if any of this is " too much " on the body. I don't feel that it is ......I am willing to do whatever it takes to effect some kind of change since I have never been treated for this. I have been ill with lupus and other diseases way before Lyme so I know in myself that the human body is very tough and not easily compromised when you monitor yourself closely and make new decisions whenever you really need to. I take massive amounts of Acidophilus/ probiotics and have no gi effects unless the candida gets wild.....and then along with all the dietary candida restrictions I take Diflucan and brush my tongue a lot and chew acidophilus tablets. There will always be some level of candida with me. Nausea is something really predictable for me......late at night......early in the morning. I take 12-15 capsules of pancreatic glandular with 16 ozs. water on an empty stomach in the a.m. and p.m. being careful not to eat within an hour of that time. The enzymes enter into the blood stream and scavenge up the endotoxins which are making me nauseated. After an hour I feel just fine and ready to eat. Anytime I learn something, I would be happy to share it all with you........ You can go to my website and use any of the hypertext links at the tops of the paragraphs to access whatever info you want. A resource and prices for the pancreatic glandulars are under..you guessed it....Pancreatic Glandulars. Buying in bulk is by far the best way to go......I couldn't begin to afford the ones in the health food stores!! www.cmc.net/~jadevoll Love and care, Cheryl

Seems like 12-15 pills alone could cause the nausea by itself....somedays I wish they could just make a cream so we could ooze all this stuff in our bodies without having to swallow it all <sigh> Bernadette

Hospitals will even allow a post-hyst patient on the ob floor, as they are considered " clean " ...just sharing what I have seen..... ps Cheryl...is there anyplace to learn something about those glandulars?? Your web site didn't say much except for the fact that you are taking them....Do you feel it is your celiac that makes you .......more than the typical Lyme patient a candidate for especially needing them??? or do you just feel in general they are very necessary for a Lyme patient? Has anyone else had experience with them?? I would love to learn more...Bernadette

Guest guest
Wow, Cheryl...sounds like you have a great LLMD! Thanks for sharing the info. I was wondering what effect the Doxy had on you that you had to be hospitalized...I passed out last month and was taken to the ER. My blood pressure was extremely low. I was on Biaxin and Doxy at the same time, and I felt that it was too much for me to handle. My LLMD took me off the Doxy and BP meds, and thankfully it hasn't happened again. I also take Magnesium for the spasms and twitches...seems to help. Take care!
